Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about HOD Apartment Tan Dinh, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment-style place in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. But walking up to that narrow entrance on Đinh Công Tráng Street, tucked between local cafes and motorbike repair shops, I knew this was going to be different from the usual hotel experience. And honestly? Different in all the right ways.
What struck me immediately was how this four-star property manages to feel both residential and polished at the same time. The apartments – and they really are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with kitchenettes slapped in – give you that authentic Saigon living vibe while still delivering on comfort. I mean, you’ve got a full kitchen where you can actually cook (the local markets on Hai Bà Trưng Street are perfect for picking up fresh ingredients), decent-sized living areas, and bedrooms that don’t feel cramped like so many places in District 1. The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’re settled in – it’s one of those places where the little details just work.
Location-wise, you’re really in the sweet spot here. Tân Định neighborhood isn’t as touristy as some parts of District 1, which actually works in your favor – you’ll hear Vietnamese conversations on the street rather than constant English, and the food stalls serve locals, not just visitors passing through. The pink cathedral is maybe a ten-minute walk, and you can easily get to Ben Thanh Market or the Reunification Palace without dealing with crazy taxi rides through traffic. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night despite being so central – something about the way these older buildings are tucked into the narrow streets just dampens the motorbike noise that never really stops elsewhere in the city. The staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re settled in properly, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward without a bunch of upselling attempts. You know what though – if you’re someone who needs daily housekeeping and room service, this might feel a bit too independent for your taste, but for anyone who wants to live like a local while still having that hotel-quality backup support, it’s pretty much perfect.

"Very nice and polite service. Good price and good quality!"
Everything is perfect. I was quite shocked at how good the property is compared to the price. It includes everything for cooking, washing clothes, and even drying clothes; and the location was perfect for our stay

"Good location, staff friendly, good facilities, highly recommended"
Excellent accomodation in my trip. The staff is very friendly, nice, lovely, especially the cleaner who was nice to us, even she washed dishes for us. Their cleaning schedule is twice a week. They will meet every things we need. Hope to see next trip.
What could be improved: There were ants coming from dining table, I had no clues where they were from.

"Worried when we arrived in the dark but seemed safe and secure."
Beautiful apartment.
What could be improved: Scary street location at night. Have to raise a security shutter to get in, but we are 63yrs old.

The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. I loved that there was a washing machine and a dryer available for use in the room itself! Linh and the team were really kind and helpful as well. Really recommended!

"Brilliant Stay made things easy for our first trip to Vietnam"
This room was big and well spaced. Although I know hard beds is the standard I. Vietnam the bed in this room was comfortable, not as hard as others we’ve had. It was super helpful having the washer and dryer. Really good water pressure for the shower. Loved have a fridge freezer too because it has been super hot. The host meet you for check in and check out then leave you alone, if you have any questions they are very responsive via what’s app. It’s 2 mins from the pink church . There’s a coffee shop in the lobby or Cong coffee in front of the pink church. We loved it is quiet and off the main road, no sound of honking in the morning. It’s very easy to get a grab from here to not just for a ride but if you want food delivered. We have booked to return in November and would recommend this place to every one.

"Brilliant choice"
Really liked the apartment it was a good size. We lived we had storage space to unpack our clothes and pack the suitcases away. Having the washer and dryer was so convenient. The location is literally 2 mins from the pink church and 5 mins from the market. There’s a coffee shop down stairs and Cong coffee in front of the pink church. It’s so easy to get a grab. Also the staff are super friendly and helpful, they meet you at check in and out and are contactable if you have any questions. We have booked to go back in November!
What could be improved: The bed is hard but from experience all Vietnam places we stayed at have hard beds.

"Exceptional"
Our stay at HOD Apartment was truly remarkable. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel right at home. The rooms were neat, clean, and well-maintained. We especially appreciated the availability of a washing machine and dryer, which made things very convenient during our trip. Lockers were also provided for our early check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, a great experience — would definitely recommend it!

The apartment was in a great location, easy to reach anything by grab or foot too. The facilities at the apartment were also very much sufficient, and the host Linh was very helpful and friendly always ready to help. Highly recommend!
