Soho Apt – luxury stay, next to BenThanh market
I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Soho Apt – luxury stay, next to BenThanh market, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But you know what? This four-star apartment-style accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City actually surprised me in all the right ways.
The location is pretty much unbeatable if you want to be in the thick of things. I mean, you’re literally steps away from Ben Thanh Market, which sounds touristy (and okay, it sort of is), but here’s the thing – staying this close means you can actually duck in and out throughout the day instead of doing that exhausting all-in-one market marathon most visitors attempt. Plus, you get to experience the area when it transitions from daytime chaos to evening street food heaven. The smells alone – that mix of pho broth, grilled meat, and tropical fruit – will have you wandering around at all hours. And honestly, being in District 1 means you can walk to most of the main sights, though the motorbike traffic can be… well, let’s call it an adventure.
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel like a proper apartment while still giving you that hotel service experience. The space itself feels genuinely luxurious without being stuffy – think modern fixtures, actually comfortable furniture, and a kitchen that you might realistically use (rare in hotel apartments, trust me). I particularly appreciated the air conditioning that actually works efficiently, because Ho Chi Minh City’s humidity is no joke. The building’s pretty quiet considering you’re in such a central spot, though you’ll definitely hear some street noise – comes with the territory when you’re this well-located. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, and the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood well enough to give decent recommendations beyond the obvious tourist spots.
The apartment setup means you get more space than a typical hotel room, which is clutch if you’re staying more than a few days or traveling with gear. There’s something nice about having a proper fridge and not eating every single meal out, especially when the local markets are right there with all that incredible fresh produce. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places that just works without any major hassles, and in a city where logistics can sometimes be tricky, that’s worth a lot. I’d definitely stay here again, particularly if I wanted to be central but still have some space to spread out.
