I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Cityhouse – CD Apartment on Lê Văn Sỹ, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. But you know what? This four-star spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building has this clean, modern apartment-style vibe that feels way more livable than your typical hotel box, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re planning to stay more than just a night or two in Ho Chi Minh City.

The location is pretty much perfect if you ask me – District 3 doesn’t get the same tourist buzz as District 1, but that’s actually a good thing. You’re still close enough to walk to all the major spots (I mean, it’s maybe 15 minutes to Ben Thanh Market if you don’t mind the heat), but you get to stay in a neighborhood that feels more like where actual people live. The street can get a bit busy during rush hour – typical Saigon traffic, you know – but by evening it settles down nicely. I really appreciated having proper apartment-style amenities too, which you don’t always get even at this level. The kitchenette situation is legit, not just some sad mini-fridge and kettle setup, so you can actually grab ingredients from one of the local markets and cook something real if you want a break from street food.

What really sold me on this place was how the staff seemed to actually care about making your stay work well, not just checking boxes. They gave me solid neighborhood recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps, and when I had an issue with the air conditioning (nothing major, just needed adjusting), someone was up to fix it within like twenty minutes. The rooms themselves feel spacious and well-thought-out – honestly more like staying in a friend’s nice apartment than a hotel room, which I know sounds cliché but it’s true. The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, everything just works the way it should. Plus, you’re paying for that apartment-style comfort without the premium price tag you’d get in District 1, and sometimes that practical approach is exactly what you need for a longer stay in the city.
