Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into The Centre Point, I wasn’t expecting much from the somewhat understated entrance on Cô Giang Street. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in the quietest packages. This four-star gem sits right in the heart of District 1, and I mean really in the heart of it – you’re literally a five-minute walk from Ben Thanh Market and maybe eight minutes to the Saigon Opera House if you don’t get distracted by the street food stalls along the way (which, honestly, you probably will).
What struck me most about this place was how they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm while being smack in the middle of Ho Chi Minh City’s organized chaos. The lobby has this modern Vietnamese aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard – clean lines, warm wood, and these subtle nods to local culture that feel authentic rather than touristy. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re jet-lagged and trying to figure out whether that motorbike taxi driver is giving you a fair price. Speaking of which, the concierge team here knows their stuff – they’ll hook you up with proper xe om drivers who won’t take scenic routes to jack up the fare.
The rooms are what you’d hope for from a solid four-star – nothing revolutionary, but everything works exactly as it should. Air conditioning that actually keeps up with the humidity (crucial in HCMC), blackout curtains that block out the neon glow from the karaoke joints across the street, and surprisingly good water pressure. I stayed on the seventh floor and barely heard the street noise, though honestly, the sounds of the city kind of become this comforting white noise after a few days. The breakfast spread deserves a mention too – yeah, they’ve got the standard international stuff, but they also do a mean pho and these little banh mi that are better than what I’ve had at some dedicated banh mi shops. Pro tip: if you’re planning to explore the Cu Chi Tunnels or take a Mekong Delta day trip, the hotel’s tour desk can sort you out with operators who actually speak decent English and won’t rush you through everything. Just avoid booking anything during Tet if you can help it – half the city shuts down and the other half gets incredibly crowded.

The location of apartment was convenient. The space was very comfortable for solo travellers. The host was very responsive and friendly, offered a lot of help including transportation. I really enjoyed my stay.
What could be improved: I had a balcony, the view wasn’t the best but not to the point where I did not like it at all.

"Exceptional. Would stay here again in the future."
Location was great. A lot of food nearby. Family mart super closeby so extremely convenient.
What could be improved: Not a lot of space to dry clothes (if washing) if staying for an extended period of time. A secondary keycard would be great for multiple guests.

"Nice cozy hideaway spot in bustling city."
First, host was great at communicating. Reply consistently and got in touch with us very early in our booking. During our stay constantly check in on. Us to see if we have everything we need.
Host was also super helpful from arranging airport transfer to getting SIM cards for us to sharing fruits with us and most importantly arranging delivery of item to airport that we missed packing when we check out. So helpful to get it to us n still managing to catch our flight.
Apartment was strategically located and has everything we needed for a week stay. Easy to find food n good coffee nearby. Yet not too noisy for my mom who needs peace and quiet during the night.
very small basic kitchen but fully stock for very simple cooking. washing machine in good working order n soap for washing. sufficient towels for bathing n etc. The host was kind enough to provide us with an extra bed even though the room already have a sofa bed. All the facilities were in very good working order.
Really good security because of the key card system. Very good wifi. Ample storage in the room to store things away.
What could be improved: No view. A little dusty maybe due to construction but nothing to be alarm about. Slight dusting n all is good.
