KN Palace – Venuestay
I’ll be honest, when I first pulled up to KN Palace – Venuestay on Đường Số 2 in An Phú, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name sounds pretty grand, but you know how that goes with hotels sometimes. Actually though, this place really surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away in this quieter part of District 2 where you get that nice residential feel without being completely cut off from everything – and honestly, that’s exactly what Ho Chi Minh City travelers need sometimes when the main districts get a bit overwhelming.
What struck me most was how this four-star property manages to feel both polished and genuinely comfortable at the same time. The lobby has this clean, modern Vietnamese aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard to impress, and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day (which, let me tell you, doesn’t happen everywhere). The rooms are spacious by HCMC standards – I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without having to climb over it to get to the bathroom. The beds are properly firm, the AC works like a dream (crucial in this climate), and they’ve got these great blackout curtains that’ll save you from the early morning street sounds. Speaking of which, An Phú is surprisingly quiet compared to District 1, but you’re still only about a 15-minute grab ride from all the action.
Here’s what I really appreciated – the rooftop area becomes this lovely spot in the evenings when the heat dies down, and you get these nice views over the Saigon River area without the crazy crowds. The breakfast spread is actually quite good, with a solid mix of Vietnamese and international options, though I’d recommend getting down there before 8:30 if you want the fresh pho. Parking isn’t a nightmare like some places, and they’ve got this covered area that keeps your bike or car from turning into an oven. The neighborhood itself is great for morning walks along the river, and there are some excellent local coffee spots within a few blocks that most tourists never find. You know what really won me over though? It’s those little touches – like how they keep the pool area immaculately clean, the way housekeeping actually folds your clothes if you leave them out, and how the front desk genuinely helps with local recommendations instead of just pushing tour packages. For the price point and location, it’s honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
