I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Happy Life Grand Hotel & Sky Bar, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. But you know what? Sometimes the places with the most cheerful names actually deliver on that promise. This four-star property has this sort of understated confidence about it, like it doesn’t need to shout about being fancy because it knows what it’s doing.

The lobby hits you with that perfect balance of polished and welcoming – marble floors that actually stay clean (you’d be surprised how many hotels mess this up), and lighting that makes you look good in selfies without being so dim you’re squinting at the check-in paperwork. The staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests, which I mean, sounds basic but feels pretty rare these days. What really got my attention though was heading up to the Sky Bar later that evening. The elevator ride gives you zero hints about what’s coming, then those doors open and – wow. The view just spreads out in front of you like someone rolled out a carpet of city lights. I ended up staying way longer than planned, nursing a surprisingly well-made cocktail and watching the sunset paint everything gold.

The rooms are solid – nothing groundbreaking, but thoughtfully put together in a way that shows someone actually considered how real people use hotel spaces. Good blackout curtains (seriously underrated), outlets where you need them, and a bathroom setup that doesn’t require contortionist skills to shower without flooding the floor. The beds are that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole. I actually slept better than I do at home, which doesn’t happen often when I travel. The soundproofing works well too – I could hear some street activity if I really listened for it, but nothing that interrupted sleep or phone calls. Honestly, for a 7.9 rating, this place punches above its weight in the details that matter. The Sky Bar alone makes it worth booking, but it’s really the combination of everything working smoothly together that made me think I’d definitely stay here again. It’s one of those hotels that just gets the basics right and then surprises you with a few special touches that stick with you after checkout.
