Chau Apartments – Infinity pool- Ben Thanh
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Chau Apartments – Infinity pool- Ben Thanh, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The whole apartment-style setup had me wondering if it’d feel more like crashing at someone’s place than staying at a proper hotel. But you know what? That’s actually part of what makes this place work so well. It’s this four-star property that somehow manages to give you the space and freedom of having your own apartment while still delivering those little touches that remind you you’re being looked after.
The infinity pool situation is honestly the star of the show here – I mean, you’re floating there with the city sprawling out below you, and it’s one of those moments where you actually stop scrolling through your phone and just take it in. The apartments themselves are more spacious than your typical hotel room, which I really appreciated after spending a few nights in some of those cramped places around District 1. You’ve got proper kitchen facilities if you want to grab some fresh ingredients from Ben Thanh Market (which, by the way, is close enough that you can hear the morning bustle starting up around 6 AM – not loud enough to be annoying, just enough to remind you you’re in the heart of things). The balconies vary depending on which unit you get, but even the smaller ones give you a decent perch to watch the organized chaos of motorbikes weaving through the streets below.
What really sold me on the place was how the staff managed to strike that balance between being helpful and not hovering. They know the area inside and out – actually got some solid recommendations for late-night pho spots that weren’t the obvious tourist traps. The building itself feels solid and well-maintained, which honestly isn’t always a given in this part of town. Air conditioning works like a dream (crucial during those sticky afternoon hours), and the wifi holds up even when you’re trying to video call home. I’d say the only minor thing is that the elevators can get a bit slow during peak times when everyone’s heading out for dinner, but that’s pretty standard for most places around here. The location puts you within walking distance of all the main attractions without being right in the middle of the backpacker madness, which I found perfect for getting a good night’s sleep before diving back into exploring the next day.
