Vinhomes Grand Park Homestay-Riverside House
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Vinhomes Grand Park Homestay-Riverside House, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a homestay inside what’s basically a massive residential complex in District 9. But you know what? This place completely surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible.
The location in Ho Chi Minh City is pretty genius, actually. Long Thạnh Mỹ used to be this quiet area that locals barely talked about, but now it’s turning into something really special with all the Vinhomes development. You’re far enough from the chaos of District 1 to actually sleep at night (trust me, the soundproofing is solid), but close enough that a Grab to the city center doesn’t break the bank. The S5.03 tower sits right by the riverside – and I’m talking about actual water views, not some tiny canal. When I stayed there last month, I’d wake up to this surprisingly peaceful scene of the river in the morning, which honestly felt surreal after spending time in the usual tourist areas where you can barely see the sky between buildings.
What really sets this four-star place apart is how it manages to feel like you’re staying at someone’s well-appointed home rather than a sterile hotel room. The hosts – and I actually met them, which you don’t always get with these larger properties – clearly put thought into the little things. The kitchen setup is actually functional (I made coffee there every morning), the Wi-Fi reaches every corner without cutting out, and there’s this little seating area by the window where you can just… breathe. The building itself has all these amenities that come with the Vinhomes development – swimming pools, walking paths, even a small convenience store on the ground floor that stays open late. I found myself using the riverside walking path more than I expected, especially in the evenings when the temperature drops and you get this nice breeze off the water.
Here’s something I didn’t anticipate – the neighborhood has this almost suburban feel that’s rare in Ho Chi Minh City. There are families with kids riding bikes, elderly folks doing tai chi in the morning, and these little clusters of food stalls that feel more authentic than anything you’ll find in the backpacker district. The locals were genuinely friendly too, probably because they’re not tired of tourists asking for directions every five minutes. Getting around is straightforward once you figure out the Grab pickup spots, and there’s actually decent bus connectivity if you’re trying to save money. The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but everything works, it’s clean, the beds are comfortable, and you feel like you’re getting a glimpse of how people actually live in modern Saigon rather than just passing through as a tourist.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
