I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Oui! Oui! CBD Apartment – Rivergate Building, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But this four-star apartment-style accommodation completely won me over during my stay in Brisbane’s central business district. The Rivergate Building itself is one of those sleek high-rises that actually delivers on its promise, and trust me, I’ve stayed in enough disappointing towers to know the difference.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between hotel comfort and apartment practicality. You know what I mean – you get the full kitchen (and I mean a proper one, not some sad kitchenette), plenty of space to spread out, but also those little touches that remind you you’re being looked after. The views from the upper floors are genuinely spectacular – you’re looking out over the Brisbane River and the city skyline, and honestly, I found myself just standing by the window with my morning coffee way longer than I normally would. The apartment I stayed in was impeccably clean, and the furnishings actually felt current, not like they were picked out in 2008 and forgotten about.

The location is pretty much perfect if you need to be in the CBD but don’t want to feel trapped by concrete and traffic. I mean, you’re walking distance to Queen Street Mall and all the major business addresses, but the Rivergate Building sits in this spot where you can actually breathe a bit. There’s decent parking in the building – which, let’s face it, is gold in Brisbane’s CBD – and the check-in process was refreshingly smooth. The staff seem to actually know the building and the area, so when I asked about the best route to South Bank, I got real advice instead of just being pointed toward a tourist map. I noticed the building tends to be quieter during weekends, which worked perfectly for me, though I imagine it gets pretty bustling during the week with all the business travelers. One small thing – the elevators can be a bit slow during peak times, but honestly, that’s about the only minor grumble I have. For what you’re getting here, especially with that 9.5 rating from other guests, this place really does feel like you’ve found something special in the heart of the city.
