Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Stay Here on Bùi Viện Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The entrance is pretty understated, which is actually refreshing in District 1 where so many places try way too hard to grab your attention. But once you’re inside, this four-star place really shows its personality.
The location is what hooked me initially. You’re literally in the thick of the backpacker quarter, which sounds chaotic (and okay, it can be), but here’s the thing – the hotel sits just far enough back from the main drag that you get all the energy without the 3 AM karaoke bleeding into your room. I mean, you’ll still hear the buzz of Ho Chi Minh City street life, but it’s more like a distant hum than a full assault on your eardrums. The rooms themselves surprised me – they’re way more spacious than you’d expect for this area, and honestly, the air conditioning works like a dream, which is crucial when you’re dealing with that relentless Vietnamese humidity.
What really got me though was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to the Ben Thanh Market without dealing with tourist taxi prices, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward a map – he walked me outside and showed me the exact alley shortcut that cuts five minutes off the walk. Little touches like that make a difference when you’re trying to navigate a city that can feel overwhelming at first. The breakfast situation is solid too, nothing fancy but they do this Vietnamese coffee that’s strong enough to wake the dead, and you can grab it to-go if you want to beat the crowds at the nearby attractions. Sure, the elevator can be a bit slow during peak hours, and the WiFi gets wonky when it rains (which happens more than you’d think), but for the price point and the energy of being right in the heart of everything, it works. You’re a two-minute walk from some of the best street food in the city, and honestly, that’s worth more than a marble lobby any day of the week.
Ho Chi Minh City’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of traditional Vietnamese hospitality and modern luxury, with many featuring rooftop pools and authentic spa experiences overlooking the vibrant Saigon skyline.

"Pleasant."
Good location. Quiet. Easy access. Comfy beds. Very clean and modern. Good wifi. Nice bathroom. Kitchen facilities. Daily cleaning if liked. It’s more a self contained airb&b. No reception so no bagage storage after check out. Easy contact with owner. Good English.

"Wonderful"
Clean, comfortable. Staff was trying to find us an alternative when we made a mistake in dates.
Laundry machine is available on the rooftop.
Small kitchenette is in the room. Air conditioning works well.
Looks like in the photos.
What could be improved: The pillow cases were definitely washed, but they have few permanent stains that can't be cleaned.

"Calm Oasis centrally located"
A quiet oasis down a narrow local alley away from the very noisy Bu Vien bar street (Yes quiet even though only 50 yards away. A spacious well equipped self-contained apartment with a kitchenette. We stayed for 4 days and the neighbours along the alley were so friendly. All local life is here and an interesting insight.
What could be improved: A word of caution - No lift and the short staircase are very steep and narrow. Nice concept of a wall projector but not great.

"Very Good"
The room is decent size and clean. The communication with the management with WhatsApp was clear and quick. When I had an issue with a pillow, they were responsive with getting me a new one the next morning.
What could be improved: We didn’t expect the street outside to be the Vietnam walking street with bars and adult clubs. That’s our fault. But the hotel itself is inside an alley and well away from any noise. We did hear the neighbours enjoying their karaoke in the evening but it didn’t go too late.

"Very Good"
Great place to stay, great value for the money. Bam and staff are very helpful they message back right away if you have any questions or needs. The property is down an alley way just off the main street where all the nightlife is yet you can't hear it from the accommodation. You will also meet some very friendly neighbours right next-door who speak English and like to have a chat. I would stay again for sure.

"Quiet place next to Bui Vien party street"
Excellent location, very convenient. I even had a proyector to watch movies in the wall, don’t forget the HDMI wire! Nice terrace.
What could be improved: Toilet is small

"Excellent value, Comfortable stay in a great location in HCMC"
This was a great spot to explore HCMC from. It’s close to great night life but is quiet due to it being down an alley - the alleys can be quite a maze when you first arrive but you get your bearings after a couple of times and there is usually a friendly local there to point you in the right direction (even if you don’t ask). The space itself is simple and neat - perfect for a few nights stay. It was a great space to come back to after a long day of exploring. We especially liked the addition of the projector, we had some trouble connecting to it so went out to get an HDMI cable which cost about £4 and watched it using that.
Overall, a great spot for an excellent price! Would be happy to visit again next time we’re in HCMC!

"Comfortable bed but no natural light"
The room had a comfortable bed, and the kitchenette also came in handy. AC worked well and the staff were easy to get ahold of through WhatsApp is needed. The location was close to the party street and lots of restaurants but just far enough away that you couldn't hear the music at night.
What could be improved: Our room was the first one, which unfortunately didn't have a window. That also meant that everyone else had to walk past our room the get to theirs which was very noisy at times. The hotel is located down some small alleys so unfortunately you have to walk a ways to catch a grab. The shower head was also broken.

"Clean room in good location"
Nice room for a few days right off the Main Street in HCMC but down an alley so no noise. Not a big room and no storage but has a little kitchenette which can be useful. Small but great location, comfy bed and clean room.

"Wonderful"
Location convenient in District 1. Although right next to Bui Vien street it was still very calm. The bed was comfy.
What could be improved: The bathroom showerhead was broken but it still worked.
