Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Saigon The Metropole – Residences Complex – By Svillage “Escape to perfection”, I thought someone was having a laugh with that mouthful of a title. But once you actually get to this four-star property in District 2, you sort of understand what they’re going for. It’s perched right near the Cầu Thủ Thiêm 2 area, which honestly feels like a completely different world from the chaos of central Ho Chi Minh City – and I mean that in the best possible way.
The thing about District 2 is that it’s where locals go when they want to breathe a little easier, you know? This hotel gets that vibe perfectly. The residences part isn’t just marketing speak either – these feel like actual apartments you could live in, with proper kitchenettes and living areas that don’t make you feel like you’re camping out in a hotel room. The whole complex has this modern, almost suburban feel that’s refreshing after battling the motorbike madness in District 1. What really struck me was how quiet it gets here, especially in the evenings. You can actually sit on your balcony without the constant honking – something that’s basically impossible in the main tourist areas.
The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, which shows in little details like remembering your coffee preferences and actually having decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out during video calls (crucial if you’re working remotely). The pool area is where this place really shines though – it’s got that resort feel without being pretentious about it. You’ll find yourself lounging there longer than planned, watching the city skyline across the river. Getting around from here takes a bit more planning than staying downtown, I won’t lie, but that’s also part of the appeal. You’re close enough to hop over to the action when you want it, but far enough away to actually relax. The Grab rides to District 1 are reasonable, and honestly, the journey across the river gives you some beautiful views of the city, especially at sunset. For what you get – proper space, genuine peace and quiet, and that 8.4 rating that feels earned rather than inflated – it’s actually solid value. Just don’t expect to stumble out your door into the street food scene; you’ll need to venture out for that authentic Saigon experience.

"Beautiful apartment close to Distict 1"
Met by the host on arrival and communication was great. Beautifully new apartment, impecably clean and comfortable with great decor. Comfortable bed, quiet location and great shower. Location was good - short walk over the bridge to D1 and a some great cafes nearby (Him Cafe does amazing coffee). There's even a Pasteur St Craft Beer bar across the road, and a park nearby.
What could be improved: Paying by cash was a real pain, especially since the local ATM only lets foreigners take 3,000,000 VND out at a time (and charges 50,000 VND for the privilege). A bank transfer or card machine would have been appreciated. Also, I booked a one bed room apartment but ended up with a studio which was strange. I was told the studio was more modern. There was no access to the pool or gym.

"Great apartment for families or solo guests"
The location was very central and perfect for what I needed. Close to the supermarket and a short walk from the main town
What could be improved: The apartment definitely needs a full length mirror and some conditioner in the shower, not just shampoo and shower gel.

"Great place to stay if you want to be just out side of the hustle and bustle of the city"
Large apartment, clean and had all the facilities in the apartment you would need. Was disappointed the pool wasn’t available anymore to tourists but only a small glitch.
Even though out of the main city area there was some great food restaurants and a connivence store.
What could be improved: Not a dislike but it is a little out of the main city area. Can walk but a bit of a hike. Had no trouble getting transport to where we needed to go.

"Fantastic stay!"
The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. The size of each bedroom was adequate and the outside view was spectacular. The bathrooms were very contemporary and spacious. Location was also good, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of ho chi minh. Taxi rides were cheap when using grab app so access to the central of the city was not a issue
What could be improved: No house keeping. Be good for daily house keeping

"Very Good"
The location was fantastic, and the facilities were perfect.
What could be improved: It's very inconvenient having to contact the host every time you want to use the swimming pool.

"Loved - but room for improvement"
Loved the views/apartment as a whole
What could be improved: There was only 1key card - made it awkward at times.
Theres wasnt much in the kitchen to actually use the facilities. Ie no mugs to make hot drinks. No pots or pans uf you wanted to cook something.
The unexpected credit card fee - not impressed with that.
