The location is actually brilliant if you know the area – Võ Văn Kiệt runs parallel to the Saigon River, so you’re close enough to all the District 1 action but far enough from the tourist chaos around Đồng Khởi Street. I mean, you can walk to Ben Thanh Market in about fifteen minutes, but you won’t have street vendors knocking on your door at 6 AM. The apartments themselves feel more like someone’s stylish home than a hotel room, which I guess is the whole point. Full kitchens, separate living areas, and – this matters more than you’d think – really good air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. The staff seems to understand that apartel guests want more independence than regular hotel visitors, so they’re helpful without being hovery.
