Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name Luxury retreat VILLA near HCM w private pool, I was a bit skeptical. The listing seemed almost too good to be true, you know? But after spending a few days there, I get why they went with such a straightforward name. Sometimes the best places don’t need fancy branding when they deliver exactly what they promise.
This four-star villa sits just outside the main hustle of Ho Chi Minh City, and honestly, the location is pretty brilliant. You’re far enough out to actually hear birds in the morning instead of motorbikes (which, if you’ve been to Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll know is no small miracle), but close enough that a quick Grab ride gets you into District 1 in about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The private pool – and I mean actually private, not shared with a dozen other rooms – became my daily ritual. There’s something about floating there in the late afternoon, watching the sky turn that incredible orange-pink you only seem to get in Vietnam, that just makes you forget about everything else.
What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything was set up. The villa feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental property. There are books scattered around (in English and Vietnamese), the kitchen is stocked with proper cookware if you want to try your hand at making pho from scratch, and the outdoor seating area has these comfortable cushions that are clearly meant for lingering over coffee, not just quick photos. The host – I never actually met them in person but they were incredibly responsive via message – left detailed notes about everything from the best nearby bánh mì spot (it’s about a 5-minute walk down a small alley, and yes, it’s worth finding) to which streaming services are available on the smart TV. Small touches, but they matter when you’re trying to decompress. The rating of 10 out of 10 from other guests starts to make sense when you realize how rare it is to find a place that actually feels this lived-in and comfortable. Sure, it’s not right in the heart of the action, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need – especially if you’re dealing with Vietnam for the first time and the sensory overload that comes with it.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
