But walking into this four-star property on Pho Quang in Tan Binh district, I actually got what they were going for. The whole place has this cocooned, intimate feel that’s pretty rare in Ho Chi Minh City’s hotel scene. You know what struck me first? How quiet it is despite being in Tan Binh – and if you’ve spent any time in HCMC, you’ll appreciate just how remarkable that is. The location is actually pretty smart; you’re close enough to Tan Son Nhat Airport that you won’t be stressed about early flights, but far enough from the District 1 chaos that you can actually hear yourself think.

The pool area is where this place really shines, honestly. It’s not massive – I mean, we’re talking about urban Ho Chi Minh here, not some beach resort – but there’s something almost therapeutic about floating there in the evening while the city hums quietly in the distance. The gym is solid too, nothing fancy but it’s got what you need if you’re trying to work off all those incredible Vietnamese meals. Well, the breakfast could use a bit more local flavor, and sometimes the elevators take forever during busy periods. But honestly, for the price point and the overall experience, I’d definitely stay here again.
