Infinity Pool Signature – Saigon Rivergate
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Infinity Pool Signature – Saigon Rivergate, I was skeptical about another riverfront hotel promising the world. But you know what? This four-star place actually delivers on most of its promises, and the infinity pool really is as stunning as the photos suggest.
The location along the Saigon River is what hooked me initially. You’re positioned perfectly to catch those incredible sunset views that Ho Chi Minh City is famous for, and honestly, watching the city light up from the pool deck while sipping a ridiculously cheap beer became my nightly ritual. The rooms are modern without being sterile – I mean, they’ve got that sleek Vietnamese contemporary thing going on with dark wood and clean lines, plus the river-facing rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that make you feel like you’re floating above the water. The air conditioning works like a dream (crucial during those sticky summer months), and the beds are actually comfortable, which isn’t always a given in this price range.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know their stuff without being overly formal about it. Check-in was smooth, they helped me figure out the best way to get to Ben Thanh Market without getting completely lost, and the concierge actually gave me solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the touristy spots. The infinity pool is definitely the star attraction here – it’s not massive, but it’s perfectly positioned and rarely crowded during weekday afternoons. I spent hours there just watching the river traffic and the occasional water taxi zipping by. The hotel restaurant is decent too, though I’d say venture out for dinner since you’re close enough to District 1 to explore properly. One small thing that bugged me was the elevator situation during busy times – there’s really only one main elevator serving the tower, so you might wait a bit during peak hours. Also, while the river views are spectacular, the rooms facing inland can feel a bit cramped and dark. But honestly, for the rating it gets (8.7 out of 10 seems about right), you’re getting solid value, especially if you book during the shoulder season when rates drop and the weather’s still gorgeous.
Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City booking should be done early, especially during peak tourist season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural events and festivals in District 1 and other iconic locations.
