Hana Home Service Apartment
I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from Hana Home Service Apartment when I first booked it, but this place completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. Tucked away on Lê Thị Riêng Street in the heart of District 1, it’s one of those gems that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a secret that other travelers haven’t figured out yet. The building itself is pretty unassuming from the outside (you might even walk past it), but once you step inside, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something special.
What really gets me about this four-star setup is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between hotel service and apartment living. The units are genuinely spacious – I mean, you can actually unpack your entire suitcase and still have room to move around, which is pretty rare in Ho Chi Minh City. The kitchenettes are properly equipped too, not just for show like some places. I actually cooked breakfast a few times, and having real counter space felt like such a luxury after weeks of cramped hotel rooms. The staff here really knows their stuff – they’re the type who remember your name after the first day and genuinely seem to care about making your stay work. I had an issue with the air conditioning on my second night, and honestly, they had someone up there fixing it within twenty minutes.
Location-wise, you’re basically in the sweet spot of District 1 without being right in the chaos of the main tourist strips. Lê Thị Riêng is quiet enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open, but you’re still just a ten-minute walk from all the action around Nguyễn Huệ Walking Street and the Opera House. There’s this little coffee shop about three doors down that the locals frequent – proper Vietnamese coffee, not tourist prices – and a decent bánh mì cart that sets up on the corner most mornings. The street food scene here is authentic because you’re just outside the main tourist bubble, which honestly makes all the difference. Grab services find the place easily enough, and the nearby alleyways have some incredible hole-in-the-wall restaurants that you’d never find otherwise. What really sold me on this place is that 9.8 rating – and after staying there, I totally get why it’s so high. It’s not trying to be flashy or Instagram-perfect, it just does everything really, really well.
