Galaxy Hotel 3
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Galaxy Hotel 3, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place. The exterior is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy, but you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels that promise the moon and deliver cardboard walls and lukewarm coffee, so I was pleasantly surprised when this place actually delivered on the basics really well.
The lobby has this sort of retro-modern vibe going on – think clean lines with pops of color that don’t feel dated yet. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff actually seemed to know what they were doing (always a good sign). My room was on the fourth floor, and I appreciated that the elevator didn’t sound like it was having an existential crisis every time I used it. The room itself was compact but thoughtfully laid out – someone clearly put effort into maximizing the space without making it feel cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I mean that sincerely because I’m pretty picky about mattresses. The shower had decent water pressure too, which honestly makes or breaks a hotel stay for me.
What really sold me on this place, though, was the attention to small details that most travelers actually care about. The WiFi was fast and reliable throughout the building – I could video call from the lobby without any issues. They’ve got good blackout curtains, so you’re not waking up at sunrise unless you want to. The air conditioning was quiet and effective, not one of those units that sounds like a jet engine all night. Parking was included and actually convenient, not tucked away in some sketchy lot three blocks over. I noticed they keep the common areas clean without that overwhelming chemical smell some hotels have. The breakfast wasn’t gourmet or anything, but it was fresh and filling – proper coffee, decent pastries, and they even had some local touches that showed they cared about representing the area well. I’d definitely stay here again, especially considering the price point. It’s one of those places that reminds you that good hospitality doesn’t always come with marble lobbies and thousand-thread-count sheets.
