Functional Studio Saigon Royal Hana Apart
You know what caught me off guard about Functional Studio Saigon Royal Hana Apart? The name makes it sound like some corporate housing, but honestly, stepping onto that 24th floor felt like discovering a hidden gem in District 4. I mean, when you’re looking at four-star places in Ho Chi Minh City, you don’t always expect to find something this thoughtfully designed tucked away on Bến Vân Đồn Street.
The studio setup actually works brilliantly – and I say this as someone who’s stayed in way too many cramped hotel rooms across Vietnam. Everything has its place without feeling sterile, which is honestly refreshing after dealing with some of the cookie-cutter accommodations you’ll find in District 1. The views from up there are something else too; you get this sweeping look over the Saigon River that most tourists never see because they stick to the central areas. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being in the city – District 4 has this residential feel that’s different from the constant motorbike symphony you hear closer to Đồng Khởi Street.
The location grows on you once you figure it out. Sure, it’s not walking distance to Ben Thanh Market, but that’s actually a good thing if you ask me. You’re close enough to hop over to District 1 in about ten minutes by taxi (and trust me, the drivers know this area well), but you get to experience a more authentic slice of the city. There’s this great little coffee spot downstairs that the hotel staff recommended – the kind of place where you’ll see locals reading newspapers at 6 AM, not other travelers instagramming their pho. The building itself is solid, good elevators, and I never had issues with water pressure or AC, which honestly can be hit or miss even at higher-end places here. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend having the address written in Vietnamese just to make things easier with your taxi driver. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure you knew your way around the neighborhood, which made all the difference for someone like me who tends to wander off and get completely lost.
Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City booking should be done early, especially during peak tourist season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural events and festivals in District 1 and other iconic locations.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
