You know what struck me first about First Hotel? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies or over-the-top decor, but somehow manages to get all the important stuff right. I mean, when you walk in, it feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need rather than what looks good in photos.
The rooms are honestly better than I expected for a four-star place – they’ve got this clean, unfussy vibe that I really appreciated after staying in some hotels that felt like they were designed by someone who’d never actually slept in a hotel room. The beds are legitimately comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. I actually got a solid night’s sleep, which doesn’t always happen when I’m somewhere new. The soundproofing is pretty good too – I could hear some hallway chatter if I really listened for it, but nothing that kept me awake.
What I liked most was how the staff seemed to know their job without being overly chatty about it. Check-in was smooth, they had good recommendations when I asked about nearby spots to eat, and housekeeping was thorough but didn’t rearrange all my stuff in some weird way. It’s that sweet spot where you feel taken care of without feeling like you’re being managed, if that makes sense. The 7.8 rating seems about right to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises. I’d definitely consider staying here again if I’m back in the area, which honestly is probably the best compliment I can give a hotel. It’s the kind of place where you can focus on whatever brought you to town instead of dealing with hotel drama.
