Overview
You know what caught me off guard about DAHLIALAND SAIGON HOTEL & SWIMMING POOL? The name sounds almost whimsical, but this four-star place is actually pretty serious about comfort. I mean, you’re right there on Lê Thị Riêng street in District 1, which honestly puts you within walking distance of basically everything that matters in Ho Chi Minh City – the Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, and all those little cafés where locals nurse their cà phê sữa đá for hours.
The swimming pool is the real winner here, especially during those sticky afternoon hours when the city heat becomes almost suffocating. It’s not massive, but it’s clean and actually gets decent sunlight – something you can’t take for granted with all the high-rises going up everywhere. I spent way too much time floating around in there, watching motorbikes weave through the streets below. The rooms themselves are solid – nothing groundbreaking, but the air conditioning works like a dream (crucial in this climate), and the beds are firmer than what you’d find at most places in this price range. There’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t try to be overly fancy but just gets the basics right.
What I really appreciated was how the staff handled the constant stream of questions from confused tourists – they’ve clearly dealt with every possible “how do I get to the Cu Chi tunnels” inquiry a thousand times, but they’re still patient about it. The location means you’ll hear the city humming at all hours, which is either charming or annoying depending on your tolerance for urban sounds. Personally, I found the distant motorbike engines and street vendor calls sort of soothing after a day of exploring, but light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. The breakfast spread is decent enough – standard Vietnamese and continental options, though you’ll definitely want to venture out to try the real street food scene that’s literally steps from your door. With an 8.7 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and I think that something is simply being a reliable, comfortable base in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the city.

"Delightful staff, great location"
This was in an excellent location in district one with everything you need around you but not noisy. It had a great rooftop swimming pool to cool off at the end of a day. The rooms were smallish but all we needed and it included a really good breakfast with plenty of variety . The staff were lovely. I would particularly like to mention the young man who was on the door each day. He was absolutely delightful and incredibly helpful including helping us navigate apps and making sure we were safe. I am so sorry I didn't get his name to mention him personally but he is an absolute star.

"Friendly hotel in city center with pool to cool down"
The staff was very friendly. The hotel was closely located to the city center and night market. We liked that this also allows a direct pick up from the hotel if you book a tour.

"Wonderful and careful staff, delicious breakfast and perfect location."
Clean environment, situated in a good qiuet area, but close to many sites in the heart of Saigon.
The hotel provides also tours and the employees are happy to give the best advice.
The staff is very kind and helpful (we had a lost luggage and they’ve been really nice to check the airport for us).
Very good buffet breakfast.
Finn and all to reception staff has been amazing. We would go back for sure.

"Fantastic stay at Dahlialand! Highly recommend."
Fantastic location, walkable to many attractions and town centre. Main bus station is really close by, as we found ourselves taking the local bus everywhere! Super cheap and covers the whole city! The rooftop pool was fantastic, clean, and even received afternoon snacks by the poolside. Staff was attentive, and breakfast was wonderful every morning, with lots of different choices. No complains whatsoever.

"Good value stay in the centre of Ho Chi Minh."
Lovely pool and sauna. Very good value for money with friendly staff. Great location in district one.
What could be improved: Shower was wet room style which made the floor around the toilet wet every time you showered.
