Aladdin Hotel
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Aladdin Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes those mid-range spots surprise you in the best ways. The lobby has this quirky Middle Eastern theme going on (hence the name, I suppose) with these ornate lanterns and rich burgundy carpets that somehow don’t feel cheesy. Actually, it reminded me a bit of my grandmother’s living room, if she’d been into Arabian Nights décor.
The rooms are honestly pretty decent for what you’re paying. Mine had this massive window that let in tons of natural light, and the bed was way more comfortable than I expected – none of that rock-hard mattress nonsense you sometimes get at budget places. The bathroom’s a bit cramped, sure, but everything worked properly and the water pressure was solid. I mean, that’s half the battle right there. What really won me over was the attention to small details – they had these little Arabic-inspired touches throughout, like the decorative mirrors and the coffee service setup. The Wi-Fi actually works too, which is more than I can say for some pricier hotels I’ve stayed at.
Here’s the thing about this place – it’s got character without trying too hard. The staff genuinely seems to care, especially this one front desk guy who remembered my name after the first night and always asked how my day went. During my stay, I noticed they keep the common areas really clean, and there’s usually a pleasant scent of jasmine or something floral floating around the lobby. The whole vibe is relaxed and unpretentious. Sure, you’re not getting a spa or a rooftop bar, but if you want a comfortable base that doesn’t drain your travel budget, this place delivers. I’d definitely stay here again – sometimes you just want a spot that feels welcoming without all the fancy bells and whistles getting in the way.
