1 Bedroom Million Dollar View Apartment
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name 1 Bedroom Million Dollar View Apartment, I rolled my eyes a bit. I mean, everyone claims to have the “million dollar view,” right? But after spending a few days here on Trần Bạch Đằng street, I actually get why they went with that name. The thing is, this four-star spot sits right along the Saigon River, and when you’re up there looking out at the water with Ho Chi Minh City’s skyline stretching out behind it – well, it sort of does feel like you’re seeing something pretty valuable.
The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice place than a typical hotel room. You know what I mean? There’s a proper kitchen where you can actually cook (and trust me, after eating street food for days, sometimes you just want to make some simple pasta), and the living area opens right up to this massive window that frames the river view. The building’s tucked into District 2, which honestly took me a bit to figure out navigation-wise at first – it’s across the river from the main tourist areas, so you’re definitely taking Grab rides or the occasional taxi to get to places like Ben Thanh Market or the War Remnants Museum. But here’s the thing: that distance is actually kind of nice. You get this quieter vibe in the evenings, and the morning walks along the riverfront are genuinely peaceful before the city really wakes up.
What really surprised me was how well-maintained everything feels. The building’s security is pretty tight – you need a key card for the elevator, which made me feel secure as a solo traveler. The air conditioning works like a dream (crucial in Vietnam’s humidity, believe me), and the internet speed was fast enough that I could video call home without any issues. I will say the shower pressure could be a bit stronger, but that’s pretty minor when you’re waking up to that river view every morning. The area around here has some solid local restaurants too – there’s this little pho place about a five-minute walk away that the security guard recommended, and it became my regular breakfast spot. Plus you’re close enough to the newer developments in District 2 that there are Western-style cafes and restaurants when you need a break from Vietnamese cuisine. With an 8.5 rating from other travelers, it seems like most people have a similar experience – it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely a step above your average hotel room, especially if you appreciate having some space to spread out and that genuinely impressive view to start your day.
