Zeus Living – Opal Tower in Binh Thanh
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Zeus Living – Opal Tower in Binh Thanh, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from a serviced apartment setup in this part of Ho Chi Minh City. But after spending time there, I can tell you it’s actually one of those places that gets the balance just right between hotel comfort and apartment practicality.
The location in Binh Thanh district is what really won me over. You’re positioned right in this interesting pocket where the city feels more livable than touristy – there’s something refreshing about being surrounded by actual Vietnamese life rather than backpacker hostels and souvenir shops. The Opal Tower itself sits pretty close to the Saigon River, and honestly, the views from the higher floors are worth requesting when you book. I mean, you can actually see the water and watch the city sprawl out in both directions. The building has that modern glass-and-steel thing going on that’s become pretty standard for newer developments in HCMC, but it doesn’t feel sterile like some of these towers can.
What surprised me most about this four-star property was how thoughtfully Zeus Living has set up the apartments. The kitchens are actually functional – not those sad hotel kitchenettes with a mini-fridge and broken microwave. You’ve got proper counter space, decent appliances, and enough dishes that you could realistically cook for yourself without feeling like you’re camping. The living areas have this clean, minimalist vibe that photographs well but also feels comfortable for longer stays. I particularly appreciated the work spaces they’ve carved out – there’s clearly some understanding here that people might need to get actual work done, not just lounge around on vacation. The WiFi is solid too, which you know can be hit-or-miss even in nice places around the city.
Getting around from Binh Thanh is easier than some people think. Sure, you’re not in District 1 where everything’s walkable, but the motorbike taxis are everywhere and reasonably priced, and there’s something to be said for having a proper base to retreat to after dealing with the beautiful chaos of central Saigon. Plus, you’re actually closer to some of the better local food spots that haven’t been completely discovered by the tourist crowds yet. The staff at Zeus Living seems to get this – they’re helpful with directions and recommendations without being pushy about it. Check-in was straightforward, and they handle the apartment turnover pretty seamlessly. I noticed the cleaning standards are consistently high, which matters when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a few nights. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re in town for business, extended travel, or just want more space than a typical hotel room offers.
