Yen Nam Hotel Nguyen Trong Tuyen
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Yen Nam Hotel Nguyen Trong Tuyen, I wasn’t expecting much from this three-star place. You know how it is with smaller hotels that don’t have the flashiest exteriors, but sometimes those end up being the gems that surprise you.
The thing that struck me right away was how the staff actually seemed to care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth enough, and the woman at the front desk took time to explain the neighborhood a bit – which streets had the better food stalls, where to catch taxis easily, that sort of local knowledge you don’t get from booking sites. My room was clean and functional, nothing fancy but everything worked properly. The AC kicked in without that awful grinding noise you sometimes get, and the water pressure was actually decent (trust me, that’s not always a given). I mean, the decor is pretty basic – think simple furniture and standard hotel artwork – but it felt maintained rather than neglected.
What I appreciated most was the quiet. Even though there’s street activity nearby, the windows did their job and I slept well most nights. The Wi-Fi held up fine for video calls, which honestly can be hit or miss at this price point. Breakfast was simple but fresh – nothing elaborate, just solid options that got me started for the day. The location works well if you’re planning to explore on foot or grab quick transportation, though you’ll want to ask the front desk about the best routes since some of the nearby streets can get congested during rush hours. Look, it’s not going to blow you away with luxury touches or Instagram-worthy amenities, but for what it is – a straightforward, well-run place that covers the basics without drama – it delivers. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially when you’re spending most of your time out exploring anyway.
