Tresor tropical studios
First Impressions
Walking into Tresor tropical studios on the third floor of The Tresor building, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling. It’s not flashy or trying too hard — just a well-thought-out three-star property that knows exactly what it’s doing. The tropical theme isn’t overdone either, which honestly surprised me given the name. Instead, you’ll find clean lines with just enough greenery and warm touches to make the space feel fresh without being kitschy.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about District 4 — it’s still got that authentic Ho Chi Minh City energy without the tourist chaos of District 1. You’re on Bến Vân Đồn street, which means you can actually walk to the city center in about 15 minutes, or grab a quick taxi ride for practically nothing. The recent guests aren’t wrong about that 9.5 location rating — you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough away to get some peace. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying where locals actually live and work.
The Room Experience
The studio setup works really well here, and I mean that. Each room feels more like a compact apartment than a typical hotel space. The kitchenette is actually functional — not just a mini-fridge and a prayer. You’ve got enough counter space to prep a simple meal, which comes in handy when you want to grab fresh ingredients from the local markets. The bed is comfortable enough, and the air conditioning works properly (trust me, this matters in Vietnam). What really got me was the attention to storage — they’ve managed to fit in enough closet space that you can actually unpack for longer stays.
Practical Perks
The building itself has decent security, which gives you peace of mind when you’re out exploring. There’s reliable WiFi throughout, and the water pressure in the shower is surprisingly good. I know these sound like basic things, but you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong. The staff speaks enough English to handle most situations, and they’re genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations. One thing to note — since you’re on the third floor, there is an elevator, but it’s one of those compact ones that fits maybe three people max.
Why Guests Love It
Couples keep coming back here because it strikes that perfect balance between independence and service. You get your own space to spread out and cook a meal together, but you’re not dealing with the hassle of a full apartment rental. The neighborhood feels safe for evening walks, and there are plenty of local spots nearby where you can grab coffee or a quick bite. At this price point, you’re getting way more value than you would in the more touristy areas. It’s the kind of place where you can actually settle in for a few days and feel like you’re living in the city rather than just passing through.
