You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked into Tracy Ben Thanh Tower – I mean, there are so many high-rises in this part of the city that they all start to blur together. But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby hits you with this sort of understated elegance that feels authentically Vietnamese rather than trying too hard to be international. What really caught my attention was how the staff actually remembered my name by day two, which doesn’t happen often at a five-star property this size.
The location is absolutely killer – and I’m not just saying that because it’s near everything touristy. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Ben Thanh Market, which means you can grab those amazing banh mi sandwiches for breakfast without dealing with taxi drama. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: you’re also perfectly positioned to escape the tourist chaos. There’s this little coffee shop called Highlands Coffee just around the corner where locals actually hang out, and if you walk maybe five minutes toward Nguyen Hue, you hit the pedestrian street where the real evening action happens. The rooms on higher floors give you these sweeping views over the Saigon River – actually, I’d specifically ask for something above the 15th floor because the lower levels can catch some street noise from the motorbikes, especially in the early morning.
What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep that Vietnamese character without sacrificing comfort. The beds are properly firm (thank god), the AC actually works without sounding like a freight train, and the bathrooms have those rainfall showers that don’t leave you feeling like you’re standing under a gentle mist. Room service was surprisingly quick too – ordered pho at like 11 PM and it showed up in twenty minutes, still steaming hot. The pool area on the roof is where you want to spend your late afternoons, honestly. It’s not huge, but it’s got this view that makes you forget you’re in the middle of a bustling city. Just don’t expect it to be empty during sunset hours – every guest figures out that timing pretty quickly. One small thing that bugged me: the elevator wait times during check-in rush can be brutal, so maybe take the stairs if you’re only going up a few floors. But overall, this is the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay, which is exactly what happened to me.
