I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Thuỷ Sky1, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked away on Phổ Quang Street in Tan Binh, which isn’t exactly the tourist heart of Ho Chi Minh City, but that actually turned out to be one of its biggest advantages. You’re close enough to the action without dealing with the constant motorbike chaos of District 1, and honestly, the taxi ride to Ben Thanh Market is only about 15 minutes (longer during rush hour, obviously).
What really surprised me about this four-star place was how they’ve managed to create this little oasis of calm in what’s otherwise a pretty bustling neighborhood. The lobby has this modern, minimalist thing going on – lots of clean lines and neutral colors that feel refreshing after being out in the humid streets. The staff genuinely seemed happy to help, not just going through the motions, and my check-in was surprisingly smooth even though my Vietnamese is… well, let’s just say I rely heavily on gestures and Google Translate. The rooms are what you’d expect for the price point – nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable with decent air conditioning that actually keeps up with the heat. I mean, the bathroom could use a small refresh, but the water pressure is solid and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night.
The real win here is the location knowledge you’ll pick up. You’re literally a five-minute walk from some incredible local food spots that tourists never find – there’s this pho place around the corner that opens at 5 AM and serves some of the best broth I’ve had in the city. Plus, you’re close to the airport without being under a flight path, so you get convenience without the noise. The neighborhood feels authentic in a way that the fancy hotel districts don’t – you’ll see office workers grabbing coffee, families on evening motorbike rides, the whole rhythm of actual Vietnamese life. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the pool is more functional than Instagram-worthy, but with an 8.5 rating, they’re clearly doing something right. If you want to experience Ho Chi Minh City like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, this spot gives you that perspective while still having the comfort and reliability you need after long days of exploring.

"Disappointing"
I do not recommend anyone to book with this host!
I've booked for 2 days. Apartment manager wrote to me on WhatsApp and asked if it would be convenient for me if I would stay in one room one day, and on the second day she would move me to another one. I clearly replied to her that it was inconvenient for me, since I only plan to be in the city for 2 days, and there is no time, energy or desire to move. She wrote that she would resolve the issue.
On the day of my arrival, I discovered that there was no washing machine in the room, although I had booked a room with a washing machine. This condition was important to me. I wrote to the apartment manager about this, and she replied that she would move me to another room tomorrow. I told her that it was inconvenient for me to move. Why don't the conditions on the website match what you actually offer??? I haven't received an answer to this question.
The next day, at 12 o'clock, they wanted to move me to another room. I refused and asked the money back for the second day. They refused to return the money.
I threatened them with the police. To which she told me that she would tell the police that I had destroyed the room. Considering that I didn't touch anything in this room, I was just sleeping due to the evening check-in. A fraud!
If you cannot guarantee a comfortable stay for a short period of time without moving rooms according to your whim, do not confirm a reservation!
What could be improved: As for the apartment itself:
I didn't find any special advantages-the bathroom and toilet are tired, the kettle is cheap plastic, there is no normal electric stove, there is some kind of small electric stove that is uncomfortable to use.
The refrigerator freezes-everything I put in there was frozen and the food was ruined.
There is no noise insulation-the windows of the house overlook the pool-you can hear people splashing until nightfall.
The front door is not sound-proofed-you can hear everything that happens in the hallway, as if in your room. I would like to point out that there is a hostel nearby on the floor, which creates additional noise in the evening.
During the day, the room smelled of boiled meat from the neighbours, it turns out that the door also lets in air well.
I cut the bread, and after a while, little red ants appeared from somewhere.

"Замечательный кондоминиум с бассейном"
Очень интересный район Хошимина. Недалеко от центра, но при этом нет излишка толп туристов. Рядом множество кафе на любой вкус и кошелёк, много автобусных маршрутов. Рядом замечательный парк, в здании большой супермаркет. Комфорт, но при этом самобытность Вьетнама не теряется.
Студия большая, её воспринимаешь скорее как однокомнатную квартиру.
Одним словом - всё замечательно!
На кухне есть вся посуда. Мы привезли с собой масло для готовки и наша бутылка оказалась четвёртой.
Не берите масло с собой - оно есть в избытке)
What could be improved: Были незначительные проблемы, но их оперативно устранили по первой просьбе.

"Отличные апартаменты"
Удаленное заселение, студия чистая, уютная. Есть мини кухня. Все необходимые туалетные принадлежности тоже были. Во дворе дома есть бассейн :)
Аэропорт рядом, около 10 минут на такси.
What could be improved: Нам досталась студия с окнами на улицу, было немного шумновато.
