Terra Royal D3 Saigon Apartments
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Terra Royal D3 Saigon Apartments, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another serviced apartment building on Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa. But you know what? This place completely changed my perspective on staying in District 3.
The thing about this four-star property is that it actually feels more like having your own apartment in the middle of Ho Chi Minh City than staying in a typical hotel. The units are genuinely spacious – I mean, you can actually spread out your stuff without everything feeling cramped, which anyone who’s stayed in central Saigon knows is pretty rare. The kitchenettes are properly equipped too, not just those sad mini-fridges with a kettle that most places pass off as kitchen facilities. I ended up cooking breakfast a few times because there’s a decent local market just a couple blocks away on Vo Van Tan Street, and honestly, it felt good to have that option.
What really struck me about the location is how it sits right in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the main action in District 1 – it’s maybe a 15-minute stroll to Ben Thanh Market – but you’re not dealing with the constant motorbike chaos and tourist crowds. District 3 has this more lived-in feel that I actually prefer. There’s this fantastic pho place literally around the corner that I stumbled onto my second morning (the locals queue up there around 7 AM, which is always a good sign), and the staff at Terra Royal knew exactly which one I meant when I mentioned it. The building itself is quiet, which surprised me given how busy the street can get during rush hour. I was on the 8th floor and barely heard the traffic, though I’d probably avoid the lower floors if you’re a light sleeper.
The service here is where they really shine – it’s attentive without being overbearing, if that makes sense. When my flight got delayed and I needed to extend my stay by a night, they sorted it out in about five minutes without any of that “let me check with my manager” runaround. The housekeeping team is thorough too, and they’re happy to work around your schedule rather than just showing up at random times. Actually, the whole operation feels more personal than corporate, which I really appreciated. The rooftop area is decent for evening drinks – nothing fancy, but you get nice views of the city sprawl and it’s usually pretty quiet up there. I’d definitely go back to this place, especially for longer stays when you want some real living space and that neighborhood feel rather than just another hotel room.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
