Sunflower Apartment – Luxury Suite by THC Group
I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Sunflower Apartment – Luxury Suite by THC Group, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The word “apartment” had me thinking it might be one of those sterile serviced apartment situations, but man, was I wrong. This place is actually a proper five-star experience tucked into District 3, and it’s become one of my go-to recommendations when people ask about staying in Ho Chi Minh City.
The location on Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai is honestly perfect if you know the city at all. You’re right in that sweet spot where District 3 meets District 1 – close enough to walk to all the main tourist stuff (the Independence Palace is maybe 15 minutes on foot), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant motorbike chaos of Bui Vien or Dong Khoi. I mean, there are still plenty of motorbikes – this is Saigon after all – but it’s manageable. What really sold me on the area is that you’ve got actual local life happening around you. There’s this amazing bánh mì cart that sets up every morning just down the street, and the coffee shop on the corner (the one with the tiny plastic stools) serves some of the best cà phê sữa đá I’ve had in the city.
The suite itself is where this place really shines though. The space feels genuinely luxurious without being stuffy – think modern Vietnamese design with actual personality, not just another generic international hotel room. The bathroom alone is worth talking about; there’s this rainfall shower that actually has proper water pressure (you’d be surprised how rare that can be), and they stock these locally-made toiletries that smell incredible. The living area has floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a real sense of the neighborhood, and honestly, I spent way too much time just watching the street life below with my morning coffee. The kitchen is fully equipped too, which is great if you want to hit up Ben Thanh Market and try cooking some of those ingredients you’ve been curious about. One small thing – the air conditioning can be a bit aggressive when you first turn it on, but you figure that out pretty quickly. The 9.8 rating makes total sense when you consider that the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work. They helped me sort out a motorbike rental and gave me directions to places that definitely weren’t in any guidebook I’d seen.
Early hotels booking in Ho Chi Minh City requires advance planning during peak seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s historic sites, world-class street food tours, and authentic Vietnamese cultural experiences.
