Song Hung 1 Luxury Hotel & Apartments
First Impressions
Walking into Song Hung 1 Luxury Hotel & Apartments, I was honestly surprised by how polished everything felt for a three-star property. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that doesn’t try too hard — you know what I mean? It’s not flashy, but there’s definitely attention to detail in the way they’ve set things up. The staff greeted me in English right away, which was a relief since my Vietnamese is pretty much non-existent.
Location & Getting Around
District 7 in Ho Chi Minh City is actually one of those areas that’s really grown on me over the years. It’s got this expat-friendly feel without being completely touristy, and honestly, the parking situation here is a godsend if you’re planning to rent a motorbike or car. The hotel sits right in the Hung Phuoc 2 area, which means you’re close to some decent shopping centers and restaurants, but far enough from the chaos of District 1 to actually get some sleep. I mean, you can still hear the city, but it’s not the constant honking that keeps you up all night.
The Room Experience
My room was larger than I expected — actually, much larger. The apartment option they have is pretty clever because you get a proper living space that doesn’t feel cramped. The kitchen setup is basic but functional, which came in handy when I wanted to grab some fruit from the local market and not pay hotel prices for everything. The bed was comfortable enough, and the air conditioning worked well, which is honestly half the battle in Vietnam’s humidity.
Dining & Amenities
There’s a restaurant on-site that serves decent Vietnamese food, though I’ll be honest — you’re better off exploring the neighborhood for meals. The real win here is the rooftop area where you can actually see some city views and catch a breeze in the evenings. They don’t have a full spa, but there are massage places within walking distance that locals actually use, so the prices are reasonable. The WiFi was solid throughout my stay, which matters when you’re trying to navigate a new city or stay in touch with people back home.
Why Guests Love It
What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel like a proper hotel while giving you the space and flexibility of an extended stay. Couples seem to really appreciate the extra room to spread out — I can see why the rating for romantic trips is so high. The location hits that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing real Ho Chi Minh City life without being overwhelmed by it. Plus, that 9.0 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — you can feel it in the way the place is maintained and how the staff actually seems to care about your experience rather than just going through the motions.
