Somerset Vista Ho Chi Minh City
You know what really struck me when I first walked into Somerset Vista Ho Chi Minh City? The way they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm right in the middle of all the beautiful chaos that is Ho Chi Minh City. I mean, you step off the street where motorbikes are weaving around like it’s some sort of choreographed dance, and suddenly you’re in this sleek, modern lobby that actually makes you take a breath.
This five-star serviced apartment setup is honestly perfect if you’re planning to stay more than just a couple nights – and trust me, once you’re here, you’ll want to. The apartments themselves are spacious in a way that’s rare for the city center, with kitchenettes that are actually functional (I made coffee there every morning, no complaints). The floor-to-ceiling windows give you these sweeping views of the city that change completely depending on which floor you’re on. I got lucky with a higher floor and could see all the way to the Saigon River on clear days. The beds are that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough, and honestly, the air conditioning is a godsend – it’s whisper quiet but keeps everything perfectly cool even during those humid afternoons when the city feels like a steam room.
What I really appreciated, though, were the little touches that show they get what travelers actually need. The infinity pool on the rooftop becomes this perfect escape around sunset – you’ll see other guests up there with drinks, and there’s this unspoken understanding that you’re all taking a moment to decompress from the beautiful intensity of the streets below. The fitness center stays surprisingly uncrowded (I guess most people are too busy exploring), and the staff at the front desk genuinely seem to enjoy helping figure out the best way to get places or where to find good pho that isn’t just the touristy spots. They pointed me toward this incredible banh mi place about three blocks away that I never would have found otherwise. Sure, you’re paying for that level of service and the prime location, but honestly? After a long day of navigating District 1’s markets and trying to cross streets without getting run over by scooters, coming back to Somerset Vista feels like the best kind of reward. It’s the sort of place where you can actually relax and recharge instead of just crash and sleep.
