Shi House -Studios BS7 Cozy Vinhomes Grand Park
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Shi House -Studios BS7 Cozy Vinhomes Grand Park, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place with such a specific name. But after spending time in this four-star spot on the 16th floor of The Tropical tower, I get it now. You’re basically staying in what feels like a friend’s really nice apartment, except this friend happens to have incredible taste and lives in one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most exciting new developments.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know anything about how HCMC is expanding. Vinhomes Grand Park sits in District 9, which I know sounds far from the action, but hear me out – this area is exploding with new energy, and you’re getting in before all the tourists figure it out. The complex itself feels like a small city with its own rhythm. There’s something refreshing about waking up on the 16th floor and looking out over the landscaped grounds instead of the usual motorbike chaos (though don’t worry, you can still get your dose of that when you venture into the older districts). The studio setup works really well too – everything flows together naturally, and honestly, the kitchen situation is better than most hotels bother with. You know what I mean? Actually being able to make coffee the way you like it in the morning, or grab some fresh ingredients from the local markets and cook something up.
What really won me over though was how the whole thing feels authentic to how people actually live in modern Vietnam, rather than some sanitized hotel version of it. The building itself has that sleek, contemporary vibe that’s become signature to these newer developments, but the studio is designed with actual comfort in mind. The bed situation is solid (and I’m picky about mattresses), there’s proper storage space – which matters more than you’d think when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights – and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. The air conditioning keeps up with the humidity too, which, if you’ve spent any time in HCMC during the hot season, you’ll appreciate. Getting around from here takes a bit more planning than staying in District 1, but that’s part of the charm – you feel more connected to how the city actually functions rather than just bouncing between tourist spots. The rating of 9 out of 10 makes sense to me because this place delivers on being genuinely comfortable and thoughtfully put together, without trying to be something it’s not.
