Saigon Landmark Apartment Center
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Saigon Landmark Apartment Center, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds a bit corporate, you know? But this four-star place on Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh street actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s one of those apartment-style hotels that gives you way more space than you’d get in a typical hotel room, which is perfect if you’re planning to stay in Ho Chi Minh City for more than just a quick weekend.
The location is honestly pretty smart – you’re right in Binh Thanh district, which means you’re close enough to District 1’s chaos but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, anyone who’s tried to get rest near Ben Thanh Market knows what I’m talking about. From here, you can easily grab a taxi or motorbike to the main attractions, but you’re also within walking distance of some really solid local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this amazing pho place just a few blocks away that opens at 6 AM – the kind where you’ll be the only foreigner and the broth is so good it ruins you for anywhere else.
What I really appreciated about this place is how they’ve set up the apartments. You get a proper kitchen (not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation), which is huge if you want to hit up one of the local markets and try cooking with Vietnamese ingredients. The staff actually gave me tips on where to shop and what to look for, which felt genuine rather than scripted. The building itself is modern without being sterile – you know how some newer hotels feel like they have no personality? This isn’t that. The common areas have character, and honestly, the rooftop area is where you want to spend your evenings with a beer, watching the city buzz below you. The wifi is solid throughout (I worked from there for a week without issues), and the air conditioning actually works, which… well, if you’ve been to Vietnam in summer, you know that’s not always guaranteed. My only real complaint is that the elevators can be a bit slow during busy times, but that’s pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. For the price point and the amount of space you get, plus being able to live a bit more like a local rather than just passing through, it’s definitely worth considering if you want something different from the typical hotel experience.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
