Saigon Apartments – Free Pool, Free Internet SIM for 3 nights, Free Pick Up for 5 nights
I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Saigon Apartments – Free Pool, Free Internet SIM for 3 nights, Free Pick Up for 5 nights, I thought it sounded a bit gimmicky. But you know what? Sometimes the places with the longest names are trying the hardest, and that actually turned out to be the case here. This four-star spot in District 4 really delivers on those promises, and the location inside the Rivergate Residence building on Ben Van Don street is honestly pretty smart – you’re right by the river but still close enough to District 1 that nothing feels out of reach.
The thing about District 4 that most people don’t realize is that it’s got this laid-back, residential vibe that’s completely different from the tourist madness in District 1, but you can still hop over to Ho Chi Minh City’s main attractions in about 15 minutes. The building itself is modern and well-maintained – I mean, you’re essentially staying in what feels like a luxury apartment complex rather than a traditional hotel. The pool area is genuinely nice (not just some tiny afterthought), and it’s usually pretty quiet during the day since most guests are out exploring. That free internet SIM they give you is actually a game-changer – I’m talking real data that works throughout the city, not some barely-functional tourist thing. And if you’re staying five nights, that airport pickup saves you the hassle of figuring out transportation when you’re jet-lagged and overwhelmed.
What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out. They pointed me toward this incredible pho place just two blocks away that I never would have found on my own, and they were spot-on about which times to avoid the main roads due to traffic. The apartments themselves are spacious – you get a proper kitchen if you want to grab some ingredients from Ben Thanh Market and cook something up, which honestly feels pretty luxurious when you’re used to cramped hotel rooms. The river views from some units are lovely, especially in the evening when the city lights start reflecting on the water. I will say the area can get a bit quiet at night compared to the busier districts, but for me that was actually perfect after long days of navigating the organized chaos that is Saigon street life. The building’s security is solid, the elevators are fast (trust me, this matters more than you think), and there’s something really satisfying about having your own space to spread out in. It’s one of those places where the slightly awkward name actually reflects genuine effort to provide value rather than just clever marketing.
