Overview

You know what really caught me off guard about RAMADA ENCORE – Upgrading for your comfort? Walking up to this sleek tower on Thai Van Lung Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from another chain hotel. But this place actually gets it right in ways that matter when you’re navigating the chaos of District 1.

The location is pretty genius, actually – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Nguyen Hue Walking Street, but tucked just far enough off the main drag that you don’t get the motorbike symphony at 6 AM (well, not as much anyway). I mean, this is still Ho Chi Minh City, so there’s going to be noise, but the rooms facing inward are surprisingly quiet. The lobby has this modern, almost minimalist thing going on that feels refreshing after spending days dodging street vendors and soaking in the humidity. Check-in was smooth – the staff actually remembered my name the next day, which doesn’t always happen at four-star places.

Here’s what I really appreciated: the rooms are genuinely comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty. The bed was firm (thank god), the AC worked like a dream, and the shower had actual water pressure. Small things, but when you’ve been walking around Ho Chi Minh City all day in 90-degree heat, these details matter. The breakfast spread was solid too – they do a decent pho alongside the usual international stuff, and the coffee is strong enough to prep you for a day of temple-hopping or market wandering. The rooftop area gives you some nice views of the city sprawl, though honestly, the real magic happens when you step outside and dive into the Ben Thanh Market area just a few blocks away. You can walk to most of the major sights from here – the Opera House, the Post Office, even the War Remnants Museum if you don’t mind a longer stroll. What surprised me most was how the hotel felt like a proper retreat from the sensory overload that is District 1, without being so removed that you lose the energy of the city. It’s that sweet spot where you can recharge without feeling disconnected.

Hotels near me in Ho Chi Minh City offer convenient access to major attractions, where guests can easily walk to Independence Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and world-renowned rooftop bars in the bustling city center.

"Excellent for a short stay. 5 minutes walk from Opera House."
Breakfast choices were very good. Staff were excellent. Bed was very comfortable.
What could be improved: Situated in a scruffy side street that appears to donate half of its length to moped parking. Room bit compact, particularly the shower.

"Great location, new facitilies, issue with smoke."
Breakfast was good, the staff was pretty nice, location was great, close to many restaurants and stores.
What could be improved: Smoke from cigarrettes: in theory, the hotel is for non-smoking, but probably the room next to ours decided to smoke; hotel offered me another room, which was nice, but we decided not to change because it was our last night; however, in the next day, there was cigarrette smoke again, so that means they didn´t solve the issue.

"Enjoyable stay in a lovely hotel in a great location :-)"
Location was brilliant, within walking distance to most attractions yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was very clean and comfortable. Rooftop pool was very welcomed after being out in the heat of the day. We dined in the restaurant on our first night, sat by the pool. The meal was very nice. Our rate had buffet breakfast included which was good, lots of options both Asian and Western. Coffee was good, and we loved the yoghurt! We will definitely stay here again when we return, which we plan to do!
What could be improved: Nothing!!

"Very Good"
Nice hotel - comfy bed. Good location a short walk from Opera house and plenty of restaurants and cafes - good base to explore from. Plenty of options for breakfast and a nice view from the 11th floor restaurant.
What could be improved: The bathroom wasn't completely enclosed, and there were only the big spotlights, so if you went during the night and turned on the light, you woke up the other person in the bed.
