The neighborhood itself has this authentic local feel that I really appreciated. There’s a fantastic bánh mì lady literally two blocks away who starts setting up around 6 AM, and the coffee shops nearby aren’t trying to cater to tourists, so you get proper Vietnamese coffee at local prices.

The hotel itself surprised me – it’s got this modern, clean aesthetic that feels way more upscale than you’d expect from the star rating. The lobby’s small but nicely designed, sort of minimalist with some French-inspired touches that tie into the whole “New Paris” concept without being cheesy about it. My room was compact but thoughtfully laid out, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than some four-star places I’ve stayed at. The bathroom was spotless, which is always my test for how much a place actually cares about details. What I really liked was how quiet it gets at night – District 10 doesn’t have the same late-night energy as the more central areas, so you can actually sleep. The staff were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. When I asked about getting to the airport early in the morning, they actually called around to find me a reliable taxi instead of just saying “use Grab” like most places do. The 7.3 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. If you’re looking for something that feels authentic to the city but still comfortable, and you don’t need to be right in the middle of the tourist zone, this place actually works really well. Just know that you’re choosing local immersion over convenience to major attractions.
