My Villa Hotel – Airport
I’ll be honest, when I first pulled up to My Villa Hotel – Airport, I wasn’t expecting much – you know how airport hotels can be, right? Just functional boxes where you crash before a flight. But this three-star place actually surprised me in some pretty good ways. The name’s a bit misleading because it doesn’t feel like your typical sterile airport property at all. There’s something almost residential about it, like someone took a nice villa concept and scaled it up just enough to be a proper hotel.
The rooms are what really won me over, honestly. They’ve got this warm, lived-in feeling that you don’t usually get at airport spots – I mean, the furniture actually looks like someone put thought into it rather than just ordering everything from the same hospitality catalog. My room had these nice wooden touches and decent lighting, which sounds basic but trust me, it makes a difference when you’re dealing with jet lag. The beds are solid too, not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get stuck with. I actually slept through the night, which is saying something because I’m usually pretty sensitive to noise. Speaking of which, yeah, you’ll hear some plane activity if you’re a really light sleeper, but it’s not nearly as bad as you’d expect. The soundproofing is surprisingly decent.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that most people staying here are either stressed about catching flights or completely wiped from travel. Check-in was smooth – no unnecessary upselling or lengthy explanations of amenities I’ll never use. The front desk folks were helpful without being overly chatty, which was perfect for my 6 AM departure mood. The breakfast situation is pretty standard but gets the job done, and they start serving early enough that you won’t miss it even with those brutal morning flights. Location-wise, you’re obviously close to the airport (the shuttle runs regularly), but there are also some decent local spots within walking distance if you want to grab dinner somewhere that doesn’t feel like terminal food. I found a little family-run place just down the road that served way better food than I expected. Look, this isn’t going to be the most memorable hotel stay of your life, but for what it is – a reliable, comfortable spot to rest up before or after flying – it really delivers. The 7.2 rating feels about right, maybe even a touch conservative. It’s one of those places that just does the basics well without any fuss, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
