Melody Apartment – SAIGON ROYAL Building
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Melody Apartment – SAIGON ROYAL Building, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment-style accommodation. But this four-star property really surprised me in the best way possible. The SAIGON ROYAL Building itself has this sleek, modern feel that immediately makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere upscale, and the location puts you right in the thick of things without being overwhelmed by the chaos that can sometimes hit you in the busier tourist areas.
What I actually loved most about this place was how it strikes that perfect balance between hotel service and apartment freedom. You get the space to spread out – I mean, after weeks of cramped hotel rooms, having a proper living area and kitchenette felt like such a luxury. The apartments are genuinely well-designed, with these floor-to-ceiling windows that flood everything with natural light (though you’ll want to figure out those blackout curtains if you’re dealing with jet lag). The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and honestly, the air conditioning works like a dream, which anyone who’s spent time in Vietnam’s humidity will tell you is absolutely crucial. I found myself actually wanting to hang out in the room during the hottest part of the day, which rarely happens when I travel.
The building itself feels secure and well-maintained – there’s proper keycard access and the elevators are quick, which matters more than you’d think when you’re on a higher floor. You know what really impressed me though? The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work. They’re not hovering like at some hotels, but when I needed restaurant recommendations or help figuring out the best way to get around, they had solid, practical advice that felt like it came from people who actually know the area. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me – this isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it delivers on what matters. The neighborhood has that authentic local vibe during the day with plenty of street food options nearby (the bánh mì place about two blocks away is incredible), but it’s quiet enough at night that you can actually sleep. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, you’re better off using Grab or the local buses anyway. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning a longer visit where having that extra space and kitchen access would really come in handy.
