Macy Apt @ Rivergate – Infinity Pool. Center Ben Thanh
When I first stumbled across Macy Apt @ Rivergate – Infinity Pool. Center Ben Thanh, I’ll be honest – the name made me do a double-take. But you know what? This three-star apartment-style setup on Bến Vân Đồn Street turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that remind you why I love exploring Ho Chi Minh City beyond the obvious tourist traps.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know the city at all. District 4 gets overlooked by most visitors who stick to District 1, but being right there puts you maybe a 10-minute grab ride to Ben Thanh Market – close enough to hit the action but far enough to escape the constant motorbike chaos when you need to decompress. The Rivergate complex itself has this modern residential vibe that feels refreshingly normal after bouncing between hotels that try too hard. And honestly, that infinity pool they mention in the name? It’s legit. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind like some resort pool, but on those sticky Saigon afternoons when the humidity feels like a wet blanket, having that spot to cool off makes all the difference.
What I really appreciated was how the apartment setup gives you actual space to spread out – there’s something about having a proper kitchenette and living area that makes longer stays way more comfortable. The whole building feels well-maintained, and the staff actually seems to know what they’re doing (which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given at this price point). I noticed they keep the common areas clean without being obsessive about it, and the elevator situation isn’t a nightmare like some places where you’re waiting forever. The neighborhood itself has that authentic local feel – you’ll hear roosters in the morning sometimes, which sounds weird but is oddly charming, and there are these great little cafés within walking distance that serve proper Vietnamese coffee without the tourist markup. Traffic noise is definitely present since you’re still in the city, but it dies down significantly at night. One thing that surprised me was how many long-term expats seem to use this place, which is usually a good sign that they’re doing something right with the practical stuff like wifi reliability and maintenance response times.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
