Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into M Village Hotel Hai Bà Trưng, I wasn’t expecting much from the narrow entrance on that busy stretch of Hai Bà Trưng Street. But you know what? Sometimes the best places in Ho Chi Minh City hide behind the most unassuming facades. This four-star spot turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t figured out yet.
The location is actually pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. You’re right in District 1, close enough to all the action but tucked away from the main tourist chaos around Dong Khoi. I mean, you can walk to Ben Thanh Market in about ten minutes, but at night it’s surprisingly quiet – well, as quiet as anything gets in Saigon. The rooms have this clean, minimalist vibe that works really well in the heat and humidity. Air conditioning is solid (trust me, this matters more than you think), and the beds are comfortable enough that I actually slept through the occasional motorbike symphony outside. The bathrooms are modern with decent water pressure, though the hot water takes a minute to kick in – just run it while you’re getting your towel ready.
What really impressed me was the attention to small details that show they actually understand travelers. The Wi-Fi works everywhere, including the elevator (I know, weird thing to check, but I always do). The staff at reception genuinely seem to know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this incredible bánh mì spot two blocks away that I never would have found otherwise. There’s a decent breakfast spread, nothing fancy but proper coffee and fresh fruit, plus some Western options if you’re not ready for Vietnamese breakfast yet. The rooftop area is worth checking out in the evening, especially if you snag one of those rare breezy nights when the humidity drops just enough to make sitting outside pleasant. Honestly, the whole place feels like it was designed by people who’ve actually stayed in hotels themselves and noticed all those little things that matter. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it gets the fundamentals right – which, after bouncing around Southeast Asia for a while, I’ve learned is way more valuable than marble lobbies and pretentious cocktail bars.

"Ok place for that area"
Mostly a good room and hotel. Good pastry coffee shop nearby. Hotel cafe made good coffee but this was not made k own to me by reception.
What could be improved: No TV. I did not notice this exclusion. Not great food options. Hard to get a beer close by. No genera store in that block.

"The best place I’ve ever stayed during my time in SGN!"
The staffs are lovely, but I believe they could elevate their service to match the top hotels I’ve stayed at in Ho Chi Minh, which would make my trip even more exceptional.

"Second home here in Vietnam"
My husband and I were staying in the deluxe room. When we first opened the door, we were greeted by a very homey dining area with a fully functional kitchenette. The hotel provides two sets of utensils and dishware, as well as a pan and a soup pot. The washroom is very clean and well equipped with all the items one needs. A comfortable living space area with a couch for 2 and a coffee table not far away from the bed. There's a full-size wardrobe with a steam iron and an ironing board just tucked inside the wardrobe, along with two bathrobes and a few hangers. Last but not least, their bed is one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on. All clean sheets and soft smooth pillows.
Upon arriving the hotel, there's an outdoor lounge area surrounded by plants just outside of the reception, nice place to chill around. There's also a laundry area with two washing machine and two dryers which all in-house guests are welcomed to use at anytime for free! What a bonus 👍👍 The staff also told us that there is a cafe just right behind the lobby with an aesthetic interior and great coffee I believe.
Vietnamese are truly one of the most beautiful, most friendly and helpful people we have encountered in our many trips overseas. One of the ladies at the reception offered to put my clothes in the dryer and even folded them nicely and put them in the basket for me to bring up to my room. It's the little gestures and thoughts that count 🥰 I also had a dress made in the market and they received it for me from the lobby and sent it straight to our door.
Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and we appreciate all the staff who have gone out of their way to make our stay so comfortable. Will definitely come back again the next time we’re in Vietnam.
What could be improved: There is no tv in the room, which my husband were hoping there could be some sort of entertainment while waiting for me to get ready but I actually like the fact that there isn't any TV or phone line in the room. We get to just talk and enjoy the presence of each other and be in the moment😊 P/s. No phone line but if you need anything, they have a WhatsApp number you can reach. The staff are really helpful!!

"Comfy stay within the city"
Location; easy access to key areas in downtown HoChiMinh. And the Noir Spa right across the hotel which was a nice welcome after a long day of walking around.
What could be improved: Room doesn’t have TV. Also the bathroom doesn’t have any enclosure that entire floor gets wet after shower.

"Very Good"
What could be improved: 숙소앞이 2차선도로라 차가많아 승하차가 불편함
중심가에서 조금 떨어진곳이라(약2km내외) 걷기도애매, 택시도애매
