When I first stumbled across Luxury Houses on Đường 3 Tháng 2, I’ll be honest – the name had me expecting something way more pretentious than what I actually found. This four-star spot in District 10 turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the guidebooks haven’t totally ruined yet.
The thing about staying in District 10 is that you’re getting the real Ho Chi Minh City experience without the tourist circus of District 1, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, you can hop on your phone and grab a Grab to Ben Thanh Market in maybe fifteen minutes, depending on traffic (and let’s face it, there’s always traffic). But honestly, some of my best meals happened within walking distance – there’s this incredible banh mi lady just two blocks down who starts setting up around 6 AM, and the coffee at the little shop across the street is the kind that makes you question why you ever paid five dollars for a latte back home.
What really got me about this place was how they’ve managed to feel upscale without being stuffy. The rooms are spacious – actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious – and the beds are legitimately comfortable. You know how sometimes you check into a place and immediately start calculating how your back’s going to feel in the morning? None of that here. The air conditioning works like a dream too, which if you’ve spent any time in Vietnam during the hot season, you’ll know is basically non-negotiable. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, and their English is solid enough that you’re not playing charades every time you need something. I had an issue with my keycard one evening, and instead of the usual runaround, the front desk guy walked me up to my room personally to make sure everything was sorted – small gesture, but it’s those details that stick with you. The neighborhood gets delightfully quiet after about 9 PM, so if you’re someone who needs actual sleep (guilty), you’ll appreciate not having to deal with karaoke bars or late-night street food vendors right outside your window. Though honestly, being close to good street food isn’t exactly a problem worth complaining about.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
