LANDMARK 81 CONDOTEL CBD in HCMC
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about LANDMARK 81 CONDOTEL CBD in HCMC, I thought it was just another fancy serviced apartment trying to cash in on the Landmark 81 tower’s reputation. But after staying there twice now (once for business, once dragging my family around), I actually get why it’s become such a thing among people who know Ho Chi Minh City well.
The location is what really sells it, you know? You’re right in the heart of the central business district, which sounds corporate and boring, but honestly it’s perfect if you want to feel like you’re in the real Ho Chi Minh City without getting completely overwhelmed. I mean, you’ve got Nguyen Hue Walking Street just a short grab ride away, and the Saigon River is close enough that you can actually walk there after dinner – something I discovered by accident when I got turned around looking for a decent coffee shop. The four-star setup means you get proper amenities without the stuffiness of those big international chains where everyone whispers in the lobby.
What I really appreciate is how they’ve managed to make it feel more like a temporary home than a hotel room. The condotel concept works surprisingly well here – you get a proper kitchenette (actually useful, not just for show), decent space to spread out, and yeah, the housekeeping still comes through regularly so you don’t have to worry about towels and such. The views depend entirely on which side you get, but even the “bad” views are pretty interesting since you’re looking out over this constantly moving city. I stayed during Tet once and the place was much quieter, which was actually kind of nice – you could hear the city celebrating below but still get some sleep. The building itself has that modern Vietnamese aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard to be either super local or completely international.
Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re renting a car (which, honestly, why would you in HCMC?), but the staff actually knows what they’re doing when it comes to helping with transportation. Check-in was smooth both times, though I’d recommend avoiding the late afternoon rush when all the business travelers are arriving. The neighborhood gets pretty lively in the evenings – not party-loud, but you definitely know you’re in a major city. There’s something energizing about stepping out and immediately being in the thick of things, whether you want street food or you’re heading to one of those rooftop bars that have become such a thing here. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra day just because leaving feels like too much effort, and that’s not a bad problem to have.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
