You know what really caught me off guard about La Passion Saigon Hotel? Walking into this place feels nothing like what you’d expect from the busy street it sits on. Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa can get pretty hectic during rush hour – I mean, it’s District 3 after all – but once you step through those doors, there’s this immediate sense of calm that honestly surprised me. The lobby has this warm, intimate vibe that’s more like stepping into someone’s stylish home than your typical four-star business hotel. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which doesn’t happen everywhere in Ho Chi Minh City, trust me.
What I really love about this spot is how it manages to feel both local and polished at the same time. The rooms have these gorgeous dark wood accents and Vietnamese art pieces that feel authentic – not like someone just grabbed random “Asian-inspired” decorations from a catalog. The beds are seriously comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), and the air conditioning works perfectly, which matters more than you might think when you’re dealing with Saigon’s humidity. I stayed on the sixth floor and could actually sleep well despite being in the heart of the city – the windows do a decent job blocking out the motorbike symphony that starts around 6 AM. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious too, with these rainfall showers that actually have good water pressure.
But here’s what makes this place special – the location is absolutely perfect for exploring the real Saigon without feeling like you’re stuck in the tourist bubble. You’re a quick walk to the War Remnants Museum, and honestly, some of the best street food in the city is right around the corner on Võ Văn Tần. The hotel staff gave me directions to this incredible bánh mì place that I never would have found on my own. Plus, you can easily grab a taxi or Grab to District 1 when you want the classic backpacker scene, but you get to come back to a quieter neighborhood at night. The rooftop bar isn’t huge, but it’s got this nice intimate feel where you can actually have a conversation, and the cocktails are well-made without being overpriced. I ended up spending more evenings up there than I planned, just watching the city buzz below while sipping a decent gin and tonic.

This hotel was awesome. Super friendly and helpful staff who organised a sim card for us (and delivered it!) and gave great advice. Delicious breakfast with EXCELLENT coffee and very very reasonably priced for what you get. Made our stay in Ho Chi Minh even better.

I don’t even know where to start! The hotel and its staff were absolutely incredible! From the very moment I stepped into the building they have done literally everything for our comfort! The check in process was smooth and easy to go through! Warm and welcoming staff members were the most memorable and valuable thing about the hotel! ✨
What could be improved: The hotel itself and its facilities were pretty modern and well maintained! Both a room and an entire premise were impeccably clean and every essentials were always available! Just a side note: By the time I was stating there the pool area was under maintenance works and I was unable to visit it, however I was given the prior notice that I would not have been able to visit pool area which was pretty considerate of them) needs to be said that this did not actually cause my irritation as they were eager to compensate this detail by offering some additional assistance in exchange.

The location was brilliant. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The price was good. The aircon was efficient. Lovely and clean. Bed comfortable. I would stay again.

What could be improved: They play music in the corridor early in morning until late at night. It can be irritating. However when I completely reduced the volume which we appreciated.

The staff were.amazing.couldnt do.enough.for.you,check in was so.easy ,they organised a cu chi tunnel.trip.for.me.(pay online.the tour guide tried to overcharge ) not the hotel staffs fault. The hottel was very central walking distance to all major.sites . They were very ho est when I ordered hotel shuttle and advised grab would be quater the price . My husband was a little.disappointed you couldn't order food or.drinks ,no bar on premises but it didn't bother.me.as qe.found a great food.market is.nearby with.lots of.eateries.,great choice

Very beautifully designed hotel.
What could be improved: Shower temperature and pressure not properly regulated. No place to put wash bottles in the shower, need to have everything on the shower floor. Could have been better insulated for noise during construction .

"Outstanding accommodation, very courteous and extremely professional hotel staff"
We were unexpectedly checking-in earlier than than originally communicated to the hotel, so that we were pleasantly surprised that they not only complied with our special request for an early check-in, BUT ALSO UPGRADED OUR BOOKED SUITE to an EVEN LARGER AND MORE COMFORTABLE SUITE. A pleasant surprise was also the "afternoon tea" served at the breakfast restaurant from 4 PM, with plenty of snacks included, so that the offered snack selection even reached the leval of buffet diversity, offered at similar SGN hotels as "breakfast buffet".
The hotel staff was not only extremely friendly, as you may expect from comparable hotels in all of Southeast Asia, but also very professional, and with a virtually complete command of the English language, which we had chosen as our communication language.
Given the huge number of hotels offered in the inner districts of HCMC/SAIGON---of which we have tried several during this present visit if Vietnam---we would definitely return to this hotel for our next scheduled visit, because we received the best value for the money invested.
We did a lot of excursions to individual destinations of HCMC/SAIGON, and we received perfect cooperation from Passion Saigon receptionist staff when booking taxis with our "grab app" for which I recommend the installation of a 4G SIM card from a Vietnamese mobile phone service operator.
What could be improved: There are absolutely no low points I can think of. We only realized that the pool on the roof top was (termporarily) inaccessible because it was leaking and had to undergo a repair.....Those things happen, and that is nobody's fault.
