INNSiDE Apartment – RiverGate Residence, Free GYM and POOL
I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name INNSiDE Apartment – RiverGate Residence, Free GYM and POOL, I thought it sounded a bit over-the-top with all those capital letters. But you know what? After staying there on Bến Vân Đồn Street, I actually get why they emphasize those amenities so much. The pool area is genuinely impressive for a four-star place, and I mean that – it’s not just some tiny rectangle squeezed onto a rooftop. I spent most evenings up there watching the Saigon River traffic drift by, which honestly became my favorite part of the whole experience. The gym’s pretty solid too, though it gets crowded around 7 AM when all the business travelers hit it before their meetings.
Location-wise, you’re right in the heart of District 1, which sounds touristy but it’s actually where a lot of locals work and hang out too. I could walk to Ben Thanh Market in about ten minutes (though I usually grabbed a Grab because, well, it’s hot), and there’s this amazing bánh mì cart literally at the corner that the hotel staff told me about. The apartment-style setup really works here – I had a proper kitchen and could store leftovers from those massive Vietnamese portions, plus the washing machine was a lifesaver after a few days of exploring. The building itself feels modern without being sterile, and check-in was surprisingly smooth for a place that’s essentially serviced apartments.
What really sold me on this place was how it doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. Yeah, it’s got that 8.1 rating and you can see why – everything works, the Wi-Fi actually handles video calls, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. But it’s also got this relaxed vibe where you can come and go without feeling like you’re disturbing some fancy hotel atmosphere. The staff genuinely seemed to enjoy helping out, especially this one guy at the front desk who gave me the best coffee shop recommendations (avoid the tourist traps on Đồng Khởi, he said, and he was absolutely right). I stayed during the rainy season and never felt cooped up because there’s enough space to spread out, plus those amenities I mentioned. If you’re planning to spend more than a few days in Ho Chi Minh City and want something that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room, this is honestly a pretty smart choice.
