Overview
You know what struck me first about Edoya Hotel Ben Thanh? It’s tucked away on Lưu Văn Lang street in a way that feels both central and surprisingly quiet – well, as quiet as District 1 gets anyway. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Ben Thanh Market’s chaos, but the actual hotel sits back just enough that you’re not dealing with constant motorbike honking right outside your window. The building itself has that clean, modern Vietnamese hotel aesthetic – nothing fancy, but honestly, it’s exactly what you want from a solid three-star place in Ho Chi Minh City.
The lobby’s compact but they’ve made good use of the space, and the staff actually remembers you after the first day, which I always appreciate. My room was on the fourth floor facing the street side, and while you definitely hear the city waking up around 6 AM, it’s more of a gentle urban hum than anything jarring. The AC works well – crucial in HCMC’s humidity – and the shower has decent pressure, though the bathroom’s pretty tight. What I really liked was how clean everything felt; you know how some budget places in busy areas can feel a bit worn down, but this place clearly puts effort into maintenance. The bed was firmer than what you’d get back home, but after walking around District 1 all day, honestly anything horizontal feels amazing.
Location-wise, this is where the hotel really shines. You’re right in the thick of things without paying those premium prices you’d get closer to Dong Khoi Street. I could walk to the War Remnants Museum in about ten minutes, and getting to District 3 or Chinatown was super easy from here. There’s this little coffee shop two doors down that opens at 6 AM and serves proper Vietnamese coffee – the hotel staff actually recommended it, which tells you something about how connected they are to the neighborhood. The night market scene around Ben Thanh can get pretty intense, especially on weekends, but by the time you walk back to Lưu Văn Lang, it feels like you’re stepping into a slightly calmer pocket of the city. I’d say the hotel hits that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere authentic rather than in some tourist bubble, but you’ve still got all the practical stuff sorted – decent WiFi, helpful front desk, and they can arrange airport pickup if you don’t want to deal with taxi negotiations after a long flight.
Best hotels in Ho Chi Minh City range from luxurious high-rise properties in District 1 to boutique hotels in historic French Quarter and elegant accommodations overlooking the Saigon River and Ben Thanh Market.

"Great Location with a nice and clean room and good price."
The hotel is not far from the airport and it's very near to the tourist location. You can walk to ben thanh market. It's easy to find halal food near the hotel, Take a walk to the Malaysian street and there are various food stall sell halal food. The city offer many coffee shop and you can find it nearby the hotel.
We booked the family room and its very comfortable for us (2 adults and 2 child) with large bedroom and bathroom with a good price.
What could be improved: The price include with the breakfast, and the restaurant open at 7am. Unfortunatelly, we have early flight, so we don't have time to have breakfast. We wish it open at 6am 😄.

"Very close to perfect"
The location is very convenient. It's close to the centre, like around 5 to 10-minute walk to visit famous destinations. The staffs are super nice and helpful. The room is clean, spacious enough, and equipped with enough stuffs for basic needs.
What could be improved: The room is quite stuffy on the 1st floor, little phone signal is found inside the room. There is no bathroom exhaust fan so it's little bit convenient staying with other people.

"Very Good"
Very central, walking distance to markets and elsewhere. Clean room, good variety at buffet breakfast, friendly staff.
What could be improved: Stayed on floor 1, because property is very central, a lot of street/traffic noise until late.

"Excellent, convenient, friendly, helpful. Will stay here again"
The staff was extremely helpful. We arrived early and wanted to just park our luggage but the desk staff, a friendly lady named Chou, allowed us to check in early. Everything was great, housekeeping was prompt with every request and all were very friendly and helpful
What could be improved: The shower and bath was a bit disappointing. The way the bath was installed allowed water from the shower to flow around the rim and ended getting the floor all wet. We had to put a towel to stop that. Other than that, it was all good!

"Decent for the price. Would pay more for better facilities"
Excellent location and service staff were lovely and helpful
What could be improved: Windowless rooms, and the WiFi did not work well in the room. There was also ongoing renovation works that made the room dusty

"Good budget hotel that is clean"
Location wise it is perfect for shopping. Close to the Metro train line and to different tourist attractions in the heart of Saigon. They let us stay before and after check-in hours. Value for money.
What could be improved: You can hear people passing at the hallway outside your room. No window room.

"Great Location for Central Ho Chi Minh City"
Unfortunately there was major road works directly outside the hotel with diggers working from 9pm until 4 am the noise from the jack hammers meant not much sleep. Hotel itself was a perfect location and the breakfast was excellent it was clean and the free mini bar was a nice surprise
