Diamond Suite Star Hill Apartment
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Diamond Suite Star Hill Apartment, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a serviced apartment in District 7. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away on Đường số 10 in the Star Hill complex, and while that might sound a bit remote if you’re not familiar with Ho Chi Minh City, District 7 has really transformed into this modern, expat-friendly area that feels worlds apart from the chaos of District 1. The building itself has that sleek, contemporary vibe you’d expect from a four-star property, and honestly, the lobby made a solid first impression with its marble floors and subtle lighting.
What really got me was how spacious everything feels here – I mean, coming from cramped hotel rooms in the city center, these suites are like breathing room personified. The apartments are properly set up for longer stays, with full kitchens that actually work (I tested the stovetop myself), washing machines, and living areas where you can spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase. The bedrooms are quiet too, which is no small feat in this city – the complex is set back enough from the main roads that you’re not dealing with the constant motorbike symphony that defines so much of Ho Chi Minh City. I stayed on the 12th floor and the views toward the Saigon River were pretty decent, especially in the evenings when the city lights start twinkling.
The location grows on you once you figure out the rhythm of District 7. Sure, it’s not walking distance to Ben Thanh Market or the backpacker scene, but there’s something refreshing about being in a more residential area where locals actually live and work. The Crescent Mall is maybe a 10-minute walk away – perfect for groceries, decent restaurants, and that familiar international food court vibe when you need a break from street food. Getting into the city center takes about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and your transport choice, but honestly, after a few days I found myself appreciating the quieter pace out here. The staff deserve a mention too – they’re genuinely helpful with practical stuff like motorbike rentals and local recommendations, not just the standard tourist traps. For families or anyone planning to stay more than a couple nights, this place makes way more sense than cramming into a tiny hotel room downtown, and the value is pretty solid for what you get.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
