When I first walked into CityHouse – Villea, honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the narrow street entrance on Nguyễn Bá Tòng – but this four-star gem completely caught me off guard. The lobby’s got this unexpectedly modern vibe with warm wood accents that somehow make you forget you’re in the middle of Tan Binh district’s controlled chaos.
What really struck me about this place is how they’ve nailed the sweet spot between local authenticity and international comfort. The rooms are actually spacious by Ho Chi Minh City standards (and I mean genuinely spacious, not just “cozy” marketing speak), with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light. The beds are proper firm – none of that squishy nonsense you sometimes get in boutique places. You know what impressed me most though? The soundproofing. I was worried about street noise since Vietnamese cities never really sleep, but I slept like a rock every night.
The staff here genuinely seem to care, which isn’t always a given. They helped me navigate the local bus system to get to District 1 without the tourist markup, and the front desk guy actually drew me a little map showing which street food stalls near Tan Son Nhat Airport were worth trying on my way out. Speaking of location – you’re maybe fifteen minutes from the airport by taxi, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with constant plane noise. The neighborhood itself is pretty authentic; there’s a fantastic bánh mì spot literally two doors down that opens at 6 AM, and a night market within walking distance where locals actually shop (not just tourists buying overpriced souvenirs). The hotel’s breakfast is solid too – they do both Vietnamese and Western options, and their pho is surprisingly good for a hotel kitchen. I mean, it’s not going to beat the street vendors, but it’s respectable. Only minor complaint? The elevator can be a bit slow during peak hours, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for mid-range places here. The pool area on the roof is small but clean, and it’s actually a nice spot to decompress after spending the day dodging motorbikes in the city center. Overall, CityHouse – Villea feels like staying with friends who happen to have excellent taste and a proper housekeeping staff.

"Amazing stay"
The staff were amazing, apartment was clean and helped to check in at a late hour. The security guard even offered his moped to go around the city :)

"Clean room, near airport, perfect for a short stay!"
The apartment is located on a small road but the car is accessible. Near many foods, room is clean and spacious, staff are polite and helpful. Recommended!

"Great place but a little bit on the pricey side"
The property was spacious, had good air conditioning and they provided all necessary toiletries. They also cleaned our room everyday and dried the towels.
There was a tree with some huge leaves right beside the room and during the night, it would knock over the room and create some noise. Also we would hear noise from the floors above. These were minor so no issues there. The bathroom was spacious. The room was basically a service apartment and had extra amenities like an induction stove, hair dryer, fridge etc. So if you want to work from this place you can, although we didn’t.
The staff were helpful, warm and friendly. They were able to let me do a late midnight checkin too, I informed them in advance and they took care of it. We asked for a scooter but it had a 1,000,000 VND deposit which we didn’t see in other places like Hue or Hoi An. The location might be an issue since this was a bit far from downtown Saigon and we had to use Grab frequently. Even when we reached this place, it was a bit hard to find at the first time.
I would recommend this place if you’re in Saigon although you might find cheaper places elsewhere.

"Exceptional"
Great location and very close to the airport.
Spacious rooms and walking distance to convenience store, atm, local pottery making shop, incense store and many other shops if you want to explore the little streets. Bill at the hotel reception is kind and goes above and beyond to help organise things. I definitely recommend this hotel with amazing staff.

"A very surprising experience"
Very friendly staff. The apartment is really spacious and it has nearly all the necessary tools to settle for a while. The position is quite silent since it is in a secondary narrow street.
What could be improved: The laundry service was handy, but after come back I realized that the ironing by the staff had damaged some of my clothes. Next time I would say the staff to just wash the clothes.

The rooms were clean, staff was really friendly and helpful. The property was near to local shops and I could even find very nice vegan food shops as well.
