But this four-star spot has this understated confidence that I found pretty refreshing – like they don’t need to oversell because they know what they’re doing.

The whole vibe feels more like staying at a friend’s really well-appointed place than a typical hotel. The lobby has this modern residential feel with actual books on the shelves (not just for show) and furniture that looks like someone actually chose it, not ordered it from a hotel catalog. Check-in was surprisingly smooth – the staff seems to genuinely remember guests, which is rare these days. My room had this clean, minimalist thing going on without feeling cold or sterile. The bed was honestly one of the better ones I’ve slept in recently, and I’m pretty picky about that stuff.
