City Overlooking Apartment – 4Stay Homestay
You know what caught me off guard about City Overlooking Apartment – 4Stay Homestay? The name doesn’t really prepare you for how genuinely nice this place is. I mean, when you hear “homestay,” you’re maybe thinking basic accommodation, but this four-star spot in the heart of District 1 actually delivers something pretty special.
The location on Nguyễn Thái Bình street is honestly perfect if you want to be right in the thick of things without the chaos of the main tourist drags. You’re literally walking distance from Ben Thanh Market – I’m talking like five minutes – but the street itself has this more residential feel that I really appreciated. The building (it’s in a proper apartment complex, numbers 47-57) might look a bit ordinary from the outside, but once you get up to the 7th floor where the rooms are, the whole vibe changes. The elevator’s decent, by the way – not one of those sketchy ones you sometimes get in older buildings around Ho Chi Minh City.
What really sold me on this place was the apartment setup itself. It’s not just a hotel room with a mini-fridge, you know? You get an actual living space that feels like someone’s well-maintained home, which makes sense given the homestay concept. The kitchen area is surprisingly functional – I ended up making coffee there most mornings instead of heading out immediately. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in this humidity), and honestly, the whole place stays pretty quiet despite being so central. I was worried about street noise, but the windows do a good job keeping the motorbike sounds to a manageable level. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to plan your days or stay connected.
The “city overlooking” part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff either – depending on which way your room faces, you get some decent views of the urban sprawl. It’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s something nice about having coffee in the morning and watching the city wake up below. The whole experience feels more authentic than staying in one of those big international chains. You’re in a real neighborhood where locals actually live and work. There’s a great little coffee shop about two blocks down that serves proper Vietnamese coffee, and a decent banh mi place right around the corner that the hotel staff actually recommended (and they were right about it). The 9.2 rating this place gets makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s the kind of spot that just works without any drama or unpleasant surprises.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
