Camila Hotel
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Camila Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from this three-star place. You know how it is with mid-range hotels, they can go either way. But honestly, this spot surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feeling that immediately puts you at ease, nothing fancy but everything feels intentional and clean. The front desk staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which is rare these days.
What really won me over was the attention to detail in the rooms – I mean, sure, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or premium linens, but the beds are genuinely comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is fantastic (trust me, after a long day of walking around, that matters more than thread count). The rooms face different directions, so if you’re a light sleeper like me, definitely ask for one away from the street side when you book. I stayed during what seemed like a busy period and could hear some traffic early in the morning, but it wasn’t terrible. The air conditioning works well, which honestly can be hit or miss at this price point.
The breakfast situation is pretty solid too – nothing elaborate, but they do fresh coffee throughout the morning and the pastries are clearly from a local bakery rather than those pre-packaged things you get at chain places. I actually ended up chatting with other guests most mornings, which tells you something about the relaxed atmosphere they’ve created here. The whole place has this unpretentious vibe that makes you want to linger a bit longer than planned. For what you’re paying, Camila Hotel delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not, and there’s something refreshing about that kind of honesty in hospitality.
